My first Senns, HD205, and my Experience.

Hi, (my first post)

I have recently stepped into Advanced stage of Sound mixing, DJing, hosting Internet Radios.

so wanted something great to monitor sound.

before all my mixed tracks used to sound Sooo Different & Disappointing after replayed on speaker or mp3 to friends.

I realized my cheap Creative HQ1400 & other normal Toy headphones (ya, they all are imitations of True headphones anyway) didnt produce accurate sound...40% of the Detail was just lost in Transition...
anyway they broke due to design defect and i discovered Creative is not even close to the real deal.

I had always heard of Sennheiser but perceived them to be super expensive.

but i checked again and saw some new models which were sub $100.
so decided to buy one.

So i bought Sennheiser HD205, Last Week.

after a DJ friend recommended the Brand and told to try which is the Least i can do to move out of toy headphones territory.

When i plugged them into my iPod,

I experienced a Different music, the music which was in another world.

the music as i had never heard.

Wow,

so i wanted to share my first experience of my transition from Toy headphones to Real Headphones.

I hear Details i never heard before on my same old tracks.

since, they are Closed, Supra-aural..
so they are Portable as well as Good enough for DJing.

the Bass isnt emphasized more than the Ambience.

but i read on the forum that True headphones Deliver the Real neutral sound and only cheap headphones Amp the Bass for the Lack of Real Punch.

Very happy and excited to join the forum.

Cheers!..

Hey, welcome!

It's not strictly true that only cheap headphones boost the base, but most of the best ones don't.

glad you don't mind the "snug" fit either. if you ever want to use them as regular cans for just jamming, put a pair of HD415 ear cushions on them...the leatherette pads are designed to seal and block noise from entering the closed cavity. the soft, hd415 cushions give more comfort (in trade of isolation) for general listening, for only a few bucks.

the HD205 is a rockin headphone, sonically, imho.

Amen to the tight fit mention. Glad they work for you. I found them to be the most painful pair of brain clamps I've ever put on my head and threw them in the garbage within a month.

Its like the first time i picked up my HD457s. To me they were fantastic for over a few years....then i found this place.

I swear every headphone company should pay for this board. Why? cause it makes you want to buy more expensive gear.

Wait till you hear a pair of 600s, or 650s. Hell even a HD555 will blow your mind.

PS- Welcome to headfi btw and sorry for whats about to happen to your wallet.

haha ya, i am anticipating that wallet thing u mentioned.

these HD205 have a tight fit but i expect that as they are supra-aural. and for Club scene.

i mainly chose them over HD457 and HD415 is due to Turnable Ear cup.

very important while Crossfading to different Track .

but yes, compared to HD215 which i tried out these aint the most comfortable senns but i am happy
