I have looked through the glossary
what part of the music is the mids exactly?
typically the vocals?
i know its not the bass but I always thought treble and mids were similar

Something like this I would say:
Bass: 0 Hz - 300 Hz
Midrange: 300 Hz - 4 kHz
Treble: 4 kHz - 100 kHz

I found that treble begins at 2.5khz

These two pages might help
T's Technical Notes
General Acoustics

In terms of the specific frequency ranges of bass - mid - treble, I found it very difficult to find an authoritative view. The ranges included in the Glossary were as best as I could figure based on several sources.

Pretty much all instruments will have elements of bass, midrange, and treble in their sound but I associate bass mostly with kick/bass drums, toms, and bass guitar obviously. Midrange - voice, piano, guitar. Treble - cymbals, "s/sh/t" sounds in vocals, etc.
