can u get balanced out from the 1212? i.e +r,-r, +l.-l. i always thought u can only get single end out only, with 2 mono TRS to 2 RCA out

1212m only has balanced analogue out via TRS

Yep, two TRS-TRS or two TRS-XLR cables. TRS is stereo, what you're thinking of is TS-RCA.

Quite a basic question, but what sort of connections are the "balanced outputs" on the 1212m? Is it these outputs that provide the line out for connecting to your amp?

Yes, the only analog outputs on the 1212M are a set of 1/4" jacks, which can provide balanced (TRS) or single-ended (TS) output. Assuming you have a single-ended amp that takes RCA input, you'll need two TS-to-RCA adapters or TS-to-RCA cables.

Ive recently upgraded to a lavry blue da and while its definately better, i was suprised how well my 1212m modded with ths4032 output opamps+output cap bypassing stacks up against it.
