[Pictorial Review] Head-Direct's RE1 - contender of the best IEM - Page 3

What exactly is the group buy? I can purchase it for 150 USD as an individual right?

Also, how do these compare to the Atrio M5? Both to be amped by MisterX XP portable amp.

EDIT: Too late. I guess I can do a little comparison for myself.

Group buy is just a phrase for a lower intro price first offered on Head-Fi. You just order from Head-Direct like any other purchase.

Awesome. Initially I thought it had something to do with the requirement of multiple purchases in a "group".

I'm looking forward to these.

I'd be interested in this little comparison too, so you can share your impressions here

Sure thing

I'm almost 95% sure I'm expecting the RE1 to come out on top when paired with my MisterX, though I'm afraid this little amp won't be good enough for it

just got this today. initial impression is that SA6 is better than it unamped out of the ipod classic.

amped, it does improve alot more (zero dac/amp opa627/lt1364). Although personally i think i still prefer the SA6 alot more.

Its much better than super fi 5 pros from what i remember of them tho.

Will give them abit more time and see how it goes.

Hi. Any idea what gain setting I should use the RE1 with a MisterX amp? (2-5?)

I'll say start with 5 first.

Bump, I'm thinking of getting these, upgrading from a RE2, and I was jsut woindering how would the RE1 go with a Fiio amp?
good question. i'm also interested in that pairing.

I saw that few people use re-1s.
But nevertheless, i want to share this.

Today i was on my bed listening to music and then i tweaked my 5-band equalizer to this.
first band- no change
second band- 6 levels down
third band-3 levels down
fourth band- no change
fifth band- 3 levels up

It sounds great to me and i don't know why, i'm just interested in how you guys find it.

Somehow I missed the question.

To answer your question: The combo is a bit too dark in my taste. Something brighter will be better IMO.

my phone lol
Btw, you mentioned that your w380i has no manual equalizer? just press manual and press the up button and it can go up.
