Indra the PRII has an active ground, be careful if the ground has a DC offset high, and by any chance the cable is in contact with the metal plate that could be the cause, please try the heapdhones out of any other source to isolate the problem, if you have any friend that has a little knowledge of electronics, measure the DC offset current on the amp three channels to see...ifi s not the amp honestly iti s very rare the heapdhones are not able to generate any currect by themselves so high...

I have had this experience several times when I had Audio Technica headphones, W1000, W5000 and A900LTD. I think it is static related. I don't remember having this with the Proline 2500 that I had but I could just not be remembering it for the static bite that this experience gives. I also think it may be related to how near your ear gets to the metal and in the case of the AT headphones the driver was near my ear when in use.

Haha that's a weird coincidence! Also from walking on the streets hmm. Have to prepare for a shocking walk again now I guess....
It's just funny I never had this before, I mean, I use this headphone for over a year now.
@ Sov: I never have this problem when listening at home so probably not the amp me thinks.
