Man, I can't imagine Google or Apple attempting to motivate their employees with a similar vid (spoof or not). Evidence #317 the Yahoo gang should probably be worried about the survival of their culture. Borg Springsteen arrives.

That's a pitch that never fails.
You saw lots of sales!

actually, this is great motivation for the internal employs. it was meant as a joke for them, and not for the rest of us. and it works, just watching people get all worked up about it, and then saying its a spoof, it is funny.

Hey spoofing something doesn't instantly make it funny (see long list of recent films) and certainly not cool... but at least it's not serious. There's more info here (thanks for the heads up gautam). And people have responded with this Apple related vid (not sure the company).

SP1? I thought it was Vista ME.

Steve Ballmer encourages this kind of thing. If you've ever been to one of the annual Microsoft company meetings for employees, he gets all sweaty and runs and jumps around and screams things as a kind of pep rally thing. The engineers mostly find it embarrassing.

Ballmer needs to go. Even if he wasn't paid a penny (and he is handsomely remunerated), he'd still be a net negative to the company. Had he not been in the right place at the right time, he'd just be another used car salesman.

That has to be the best Apple ad yet... thank you Microsoft.

And by "sucks" I guess you refer to security, stability, and speed. So yeah.. If those three things suck to you than OS X sucks.

It's personal preference as to the OS you choose. I would strongly suggest you spend some time living with OS X before deciding it "sucks, no matter what". I have my work supplied Dell laptop with the corporate image of windows and it sits on my desk right next to my Mac. To me, and this is just MY opinion, working with Windows is painful. Microsoft has done a great job of obtaining and maintaining control of the corporate desktop market. Kudos to them. Obviously without Windows, the PC as we know it would not be as popular and widely accessible as it is today. Windows and it's ease of use has brought the PC to the masses and for that we are grateful. However, I do strongly feel (my personal opinion again let's not start a flame war) that OS X as it exists today is a far superior OS in most every way to Windows. If the Microsoft OS was so great, why is there such a current influx of Linux and OS X in the market?

Interesting way not to start a flame war Gautam.

I like Valleywags take.

Even if we give MS all the benefit of the doubt, they're doing what - making light of their past marketing and/or too serious/uncool/unhip problems? So now they get it, are spoofing themselves (or the blogophere of you want to make it external - and thus officially leaked so it is for our consumption? ) and thus are above it all? Lets see. Proof is in the pudding and all I see recently is a desperate potential hostile Yahoo takeover, a Google-like Live suite failure (aka rebranding), public and manufacturing response to Vista (hey at least it helped XPs rep!), and this video. There are a lot of reasons to jump on MS now and it's all not fanboyism of opposing forces.

There's something not right about Ballmer in general. There is no other CEO of a large corporation who behaves as childishly as he does. It's shocking really.

He needs to be sacked for someone who can bring discipline back to the organization. This frat-boy sales video is part of the culture he's created.
