RSA SR-71 Gain Settings

Afternoon all

How do you identify what gain setting an SR-71 has please? Assuming it can in fact be altered, is the gain setting user adjustable or does it have to be returned to Ray and if so does anyone have an idea of cost?

Many thanks.

Give Ray a call. Contact information is Contact - Ray Samuels Audio. He is on EST.

My tomahawk has high/low gain switchable at the back, but I believe the SR-71 has a preset gain of 6.

Thanks for that. I didn't really want to trouble Ray at this stage. Is 6 a low, medium or high setting please?

Tomahawk had low gain of 1 and high gain of 4.

BTW, you won't be bothering Ray. He loves to talk about his amps!

I agree, Ray is one of the nicest guys in the business. His SR71 is also one of the nicest portable amps available.

You can't discuss amplifier gain usefully without taking into account the source's voltage output. Sources outputting a high voltage need less amplifier gain, and I don't think all sources have the some output voltage.
