Particularly something like an iMod, VCAP, Lisa III stack with cables. Has anyone had the TSA folks re-inspect or interrogate them over having stacks of audio gear you're trying to bring onboard?

I traveled with 9 Lisa III's and 1 LLP, cables, I-pod etc.
No trouble at all in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore.
Seattle was the least effiecient, worst layed out
and most unfriendly Airport that trip,US customs went
through everything, broke a 2 cheap souvenirs through
carelessness but no real problems

There's been at least one other thread on this subject, and the general consensus is that there are no problems.

I just bought my imod, tomohawk in my handcarry through Singapore, Philippines airport. No problems there.

Think it might help to remove the IC during the screening to make the portable look less like a bomb.

I have traveled all over the US and South America with my Ray Samuels, Hornet and ALO, Jumbo Cryo Dock Cable and have never had any trouble and it rolls right through the belt without further examination. Dispalyman

they look for bombs based on chemical signature. A chip amp doesn't offgas like a bomb. Doesn't look like a bomb. If you get hassled because your amp looks like a bomb, it's really for another reason.
