If yes, let us know the difference

Seconded. My D2000s are about to arrive and if the bass is not up to par I'd like to know how well the markl mod works.

Also, does the markl mod or an APureSound recable give a better sound quality increase, for anybody who has tried both?

I was looking at the mod too because I just got a set of the 2000s. But after listening to them straight out of the box I really like them as is. I used them with my Audio Valve amp and a Larocco amp and they sound pretty good to me. I was reading Mark's thread where he thought they rattled and I don't hear that at all on my 2000s. I also read where he didn't really like the bass and I do like the bass on the 2000s as is. So I don't really hear a need to go with the mod but that's just me.

I have a need for a good set of closed cans and am seriously considering the D2000. I would also appreciate any information on the need for the Markl mod and/or its effectiveness on the D2000.

If you need closed headphones for isolation, I would look elsewhere.

I find the bass is excellent on my D2000s and there is no noticeable rattle either. They are recabled though, which I'm sure makes a difference.

So while I haven't felt any desire to do the full mod, I have done the mod to the pads, and personally prefer the sound to the stock version.

Does anyone know how i can contact Markl to buy a pair of his Mod D5000's? I've tried mall-fi but it says i don't has the right access priviledges. Does anyone know how much they cost from Markl?

Thanks
