Feedback? Apparently, they don't care to change any of this, cause they're too busy fixing up their i.touch ripoff for gen3 zune.

Someone please convince me that it's not bad as I made it out to be.. I really want to buy one and like it, without getting annoyed at the fact that microsoft screwed up again..
I was reluctant to relinquish "control" to Zune SW, but was also tempted by the hdwr. Now I love my Zune 80! I have learned how to set up the software so I feel comfortable with it & am soon going to start using zSuite & see if I like it. The overall experience has been extremely positive for me & my Zune. I especially like using it in the car. I built a mount for it & use the aux input of my HU. It is wonderful to have sooo much music readily available. Get one & start enjoying it.

I have been using iTunes for the last 1.5 years to buy Jpop versus importing it like I did 3 years ago. This action has forced (except for the iTunes Plus) me to use an iPod for a while, but after the most recent updates to the iPod line I finally decided it was time to leave. I don't like where Apple is going with the Touch and it is obvious that the Classic is just a stop-gap measure for the near future.

I decided to look at Sony, MS, and even Kenwood. I tried the Kenwood. It was great sounding, but I didn't care for its software.

I have used the Sony A808 and S703F. Both sound great (to me) but I am a bit tired of using Sonicstage. More importantly, I was forced to use software to transfer videos and pics as well. I know Sony has gone more of an "open" route here in North America, but I just don't know anymore.

I decided to give the Zune a new try and really like the new software and firmware (even on the old Zune 30). The only thing that truly bothers me with the Zune is that I still am looking at little boxes instead of Japanese and Korean fonts. WHY is it so hard to install 4 font files after more than a year of firmware updates?

Even with the "little boxes" nightmare, I have finally decided to stick with the Zune over all the other brands. The hardest part of the switch from Apple is converting my files to a non-protected codec as well as going back to importing my Jpop and Kpop. iTunes really did make buying East Asian music so simple and QUICK.

I agree with you lamewing... if they implemented Asian characters, I'd buy the Zune80 in a heartbeat Is it really that hard? I hope the Zune community finds a hack soon like the Zune30. IMO the Zune80 is the best HD DAP on the market right now.

I love my Zune80 too. . . finally. The software made me scream though
It's the worst I've ever used, and that's coming from a SonicStage user!! But I managed to gain the upper hand and quickly learnt to disable everything on it. So I don't let it sync automatically, I don't let it 'update' album art, in fact I don't let it do anything at all. I sync manually and add my own album art.

Now it's loaded up with music and sitcom, and I hardly have to use the s/w anymore, except for adding the odd CD here and there. I have the Sony 808 too, and while I love it to death, the Zune has a much more expansive soundstage. It's very noticeable when I go back to the Sony. If you can come to terms with the s/w, and accept that initially, you may have to devote a lot of time getting it to work how you want it to - then I think you'll be very happy with it. It took me along time to fall in love with the Zune, but now I couldn't imagine life without it.

I use the software to sync and that's it. It does that just fine.
I wish all of the frikkin whiners would learn that.

I am surprised that Apple didn't redesign the iPod Classic with full-body aluminum case last year. Instead they redesigned the nano to add the silver back. I just don't understand Apple. My Zune's scratch-resistant back still has no damage to it.

This is probably erroneous and will be taken down soon.

Zune 80GB MP3 Video Player, Black - Wal-Mart

(As of 4/10/08 at 10:20AM CST, Wal-Mart.com has the Zune 80 for $138.54)

I say take advantage and snatch one up while you can if you're even considering buying it. You can always return it.

update . . . called the local walmart. apparently they're not going to be carrying the 80gb versin any longer, so it must have been a clearance thing.
