I've been one of the very first to get from Mark a pair of the Denon AH-D5000 modded by himself since he became a member of the trade. That's why I'm opening this new thread instead of adding these comments to his current thread on the users feedback forum.

Dealing with him has been extremely pleasant, his replies always prompt, informative and spot on the question. Moreover his knowledge and insight about audio and heapdhone issues is stellar.
We agreed that I'd be purchasing the cans at Amazon, they'd send them to him, and once he had modded the cans for his fee -which is IMO very correct in the cheap side of things regarding materials' cost and the time he spends doing the mods-, he'd send the cans to my place.

All this process took a bit more of a couple of weeks, and the longest part was having USPS to bring the cans to Europe (one week). Everything came out perfectly. I can't recommend his mods and professional behaviour enough. You can't go wrong asking Mark to mod your Denons

Thank you very much Mark for such a nice experience. BTW, the cans sound great, still burning-in them

i asked markl to mod my phone. His communication is excellent and he has fast shipment. He takes care of our phone like his phone so you don't need to worry about your phone.
Highly recommend him to everyone

I bought a pair of D5000s and had them sent from the vendor directly to markl for modifying. They arrived here about two weeks later in pristine condition, no wear or damaged lettering that I can distinguish. Throughout the transaction mark was quite professional. I found him to be a good communicator and quite honest, telling me what to expect up front. It is too early in the burn in process to comment on the sound other than to say they already offer an unusually salient sense of auditory space. There is lots of promise in these phones. I recommend markl (member of trade) to you with great enthusiasm.

Jeff said it so well above that I am just quoting him here. His experience matches mine in buying a set of modded headphones from MarkL. I am enjoying the sound that is coming as they break in.

I purchased a pair of Modded Denon D5000's through Mark. I have a pair with 5.5ft. of Balanced Jena. The phones are stellar, his service exemplary and delivered as promised. First Class all the way!!

I had my D-5000's drop shipped to Mark for mod and recable with Jena wire. It was a joy to deal with him. Communication was prompt and accurate. Service and products are top rate and speed was impressive. I have nothing but good things to say about Mark.

Mark offers his time to explain and reassure as well as his skill and talent to make an already good headphone to an excellent headphone which I know will last the test of time to be of the classics that are and will be. His work is awesome and he's a nice guy to boot.I will purchase more modded Denons from Mark with pleasure.Highly highly recommended.

I bought a set of Tasmanian Blackwood LA wood cups from markL and installed them myself. I bought them about a month ago and only got around to adding feedback just now. Mark and I had been conversing about the mods for some time and he was very helpful with any questions I had about what to expect from the change in SQ. he was able to put the subjective quality of these gorgeous pieces of art into language that I could understand as a cable maker. he also helped me out with a pep talk when about to do the install and recable as well. The result is nothing short of sublime in both appearance and SQ. His contribution to the community with his sharing of the potential of these wonderful headphones is very generous indeed. Communication was always very pleasant and timely; I enjoyed our conversations very much. I know where I will be going when I need something like this in the future and I am happy to recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone considering it.

always nice to meet a kindred spirit and I know this will not be the last time I do business with him.

I bought one of the first pair of Jena wired balanced markl-modded D5000's, and I love them! Mark was execellent to work with, and ensured every step of the way that I knew what was going on. Good friend of this site too, offering up the markl-mod instructions to anyone bold enough to try them on their own.

Highly recommended!

Mark is a tremendous supporter of the Head-Fi community. For the fall NY meet he sent a pair of MD5000 DE for us to audition. After letting me hold onto them for a month I decided I couldn't let them go. Being a demo pair, he let me have them for a very fair price.

I am now demoing a pair of LA7000s that he sent to the spring NY meet. Again he is letting me hold them for a couple of weeks before sending off to the next lucky recipient.

Can't believe I had not posted feedback. I have had two Denon heaphones modded by Mark and he did a very good job. I have also bought two of his bubinga wood cups for the two Denons the sound is fantastic. Thanks.
