Can't identify a Volex cable (14-3) from an HP DL585 svr

"borrowing" a cable from the server room from some DL585 HP G1 servers
They come with some huge fat cables, which after looking at the ends are VOLEX!! lol

Well anyways, after connecting them to my Jolida JD100 & Conrad Johnson, I think they sound great... even more full bodied and just as resolved as the Kimber PK10's that I recently got!

However... they don't appear to be the infamous 17604 based upon some investigation, though they are 14-3 guage (I think)

So if some CSI headfiers can help me out... here is the cryptic imprint on the cable itself
Volex
14-3 SJT (UL) E3462-F--CSA LL7874-F FT2 HY

I know the beginning 14-3 SJT (UL) appears standard for most Volex cables being 14 guage...
It says 15Amp\125v on the plug

Found this site, but for some reason, asides from the 14-3... and the length I can't identify anything further

I'm thinking that this cord is unshielded... but only 2 models
17504 & 17604 which are 14-3 (thickest guage?) one being shielded, the other non...
but anyone wanna help would be fun

The first 2 numbers are only significant to UL and CSA, respectively. LL7874-F is the part number, but it might be very old product number and already obsolete.

I use the Volex, too. If it sounds good to you then you had a good cable.

hrm... Curious, if anyone is reading

Shielding VS non-Shielded

My audio stores here (at least 2 people) think that unshielded has the least amount of resistance measured and is typically best, granted that EMI is limited in the area

E3462 is the UL (US) certification number; LL7874 is the CSA (Canadian) file number, regarding safety of a group of Belden cables. Volex adds the connectors to the ends. Shielded power cords are usually marked/imprinted as such. (If I wanted to know for sure, I'd remove a portion of the insulation.)

So out of 14-3 SJT (UL) E3462-F--CSA LL7874-F FT2 HY
Being the first 14-3 means nothing and that the UL & CSA reflect the Canadian file number... what can I use to identify whether it's a 17604 or 17504 or whatever?

I also unfortunately have found another cord by Volex which happens to have this (same diameter but slightly different ends)

I would use the shielded cable and not worry about it (i.e. enjoy listening to great music). Or, since they are relatively inexpensive, in comparison to "audiophile" power cables (<13US$ each), purchase one of each, then listen to each to find the one that best matches the acoustic qualities you seek.
