IpodRockbox and battery saving

I seem to remember the good people behind RockBox finally managed to crack the problem of the decreased battery life on the ipod when compared to the original firmware.
Is this actually the case, or did I dream up the whole thing?

When putting rockbox on my 5.5 gen iPod video, it said that battery life on full still had a good charge of 11.5 hours...and this is after 1.5 years of me having this iPod. So I guess I'd say yes, I never had a problem w/ battery life (but I had only used it the first time about a month ago.).

it was mostly improved, but it's not peeeerfect yet.

Is there maybe an experimental/beta version of Rockbox with better battery support, or is the only version available the official one?

Battery improvements were incorporated into the official builds in January.

February actually, at least for the iPod Grayscale. But I think it's the same for every model.
The new releases, though, have problems with supporting CF cards. This is what I and other people have experienced.

You're right, it was February 10, Rockbox SVN revision 16529. To the original poster, if you're running Rockbox and are using a version with a revision number less than 16529, you should update. The SVN revision number is displayed on the splash screen when Rockbox boots, and can also be located by selecting System --> Version from the main menu.
