I actually have an unopened backup set of UE10s, but I'm hesitating on breaking into them... I don't really need to, but I lack a decent portable sound option now.

Get radians diy self impression kit for $10 from amazon, cvs etc, spend 10-15 mins to take your ear impressions urself and when ur done, have them shipped to the re-sheller that you wish, simple as that......you make use of that remaining 80-85% of that cost to re-shell+s/h!

Its not simple as that. You can loose your hearing forever if you dont use the blocks correctly and material contacts ear drums. Ear impressions have to be done by specialized people.

Huh, I thought I had a good deal there. I had two other places quote me $100+ USD.

I'll have to do some more research and look into diy as well.

yeah there are useful videos out there on youtube......bite block and 2nd bend is v.imp. But if you are not confident enough and not sure of what you doin I suggest you better safe with specialist, imo.

Keep us updated with your re-shelling!

Speaking of radians and UE triple fi, I recently did this to mine. Sounds good and the fit is fantastic.[/IMG]ace33c1f4c5a27676312095f18703189.jpg76a39c1623c7387b3e801e64fd44f39f.jpg

So, after another 4 years, my cable finally broke again. This time I'd like to buy something a little more solid than the original UE TF10 vi cable. I'd like to have something that also has one button for pause/play. I can't find anything though. I'm looking for a solution/recommendation. Maybe I can go with some custom cable like Dark Lord's and add an extension of sorts that gives me a button/volume control? Any of you guys have a suggestion?

Edit: Looking at Null Audio's website right now and it seems like it may fit the bill? When you add the "dual audio" mod, does it give you a control button as well? Any big difference in quality between this and the cheaper 'Arete' cable? https://www.null-audio.com/products/lune-series-mkiii-premium-upgrade-cable-for-earphones?variant=381387146

Edit 2: Found my answers. Now it's about deciding between Arete and Lune...! Tough choice.

hey, i'm on the same boat. let me know what you decide to do and why...  i just found my TF10s from storage and debating whether or not I should sell them or just use a new cable on them (but from where? and which one?).

I ended up going with the Arete after seeing averagejoe's review comparing both; he said he preferred them sonically, and put an emphasis on better bass. But the reviews on the main site are definitely in favor of the Lune for durability, so it was close. Price was the defining factor. I chose Arete because it was cheaper.

So I've had my Triplefi's forever and still love em, but I'm thinking of turning them into CIEM's. Can anyone recommend a re-sheller?

Also, can anyone recommend a good budget replacement cable? I think some have mentioned the Dark Lord, are both of these the same and is it still a good recommendation?
