My 531s' pads are getting old. Is there still a source for replacement pads for these? (Pretty sure they're the same circular velour pads as several other models.)

All I have to say is that their awesome pair of headphones. Great sound stage, vocals are a bit too strong, you can feel the bass other than hearing it, and great for movies. Comfort is 4.5...

I know people bash on Bose because of they're over priced and I agree. I believe these retail for about $150 or so and I paid $85 for these due to employee discount at where I work. With that...

I bought these headphones as an upgrade from my BD DT-770 Pro 80Ohm. The are better in all areas, except that the right can can't handle bass. As soon as there are low bass it just becomes a...

everything about these headphones is flawless. Everything is balanced, and perfect. Any of the reviews that didn't like them most likely have a fake pair, or, hate life. The only thing I could...

I don't know where you're located, but those pads are easy to get in the EU from here.
EDIT: The pads you want are the ones for the DT880 and DT990. It looks like HeadRoom sells the DT770 pads, and suggests retrofitting them to the DT880/990 even thought the fit isn't perfect. If you're outside the EU, just look for DT880/990 pads.

The fit is, as far as the headphones themselves are concerned, identical. All these 'phones have the same 100mm flange.
But the DT770 style pads have stiffer foam in them, and hold the driver further away from your ear. They are visually identical in every way - the 990 style pads are just softer.
I recommend calling Beyer USA and ordering a new set of DT990 pads. It'll set you back something like $45 shipped, iirc. I don't have the number handy - search the forum for the name "Michael Manny" - he's the Beyerdynamic counterpart of AKG's Frank Rodriguez. More frustrating to place an order, but unlike AKG, you actually get the parts in a timely manner.

I was also trying to recommend against "this" (using the DT770 pads), in case my point was not well stated.
Yeah, I guess I'll contact them. I figured I'd have to, but I wanted to make sure there wasn't some online store that carries them that I somehow missed.
Thanks.
Thanks.
