Saturday Night Concert Announcement

The band that will be playing is from Savanah, GA. The first time I saw them was during a meet weekend a couple of years ago. I haven't forgot that night and I know the others in attendance feel the same way. The band is The Eric Culberson Blues Band.

Here are some impressions:

"For more music, there was the friday experience at Oz's which always blows me away, then the Eric Culberson Blues Band at the Bamboo Room after the meet on Sat night absolutely killed. First of all, the Bamboo Room in Lake Worth (my first time there - hope not the last) is a true old school, old Florida type of club - upstairs in kind of a converted warehouse building, nice bar, comfortable seating, excellent staff, and nice big porches outside. Sound was great, and Eric and the boys (drummer and electric bass) tore the joint up. Raul and I played their cd (recorded live at the very same Bamboo Club) all the way back to Sarasota today, and it's crankin' now."

"Warren Haynes isn't qualified to change Eric Culberson's guitar strings."

"Ok here the couple of videos I caught of Eric's Band at some of his guitar jamming drifts. This was a really awesome show, I'm a total newbie, but definitely a Blues convert."

"I want to thank johnny numbers for his important role in this meet, starting the thread. Without him, I would have had a lot more free time over the last few weeks. I also have to give him credit for picking the show we saw Saturday night. No joke, one of the best live shows I've seen in a while. I can't remember the last time I saw a band play for 4 hours."

We have them for about 3 hours Saturday night. They will play after a buffet dinner. The cost for the event is $25. This event will be limited to 110 people so if you plan on attending you can send me a pm with the number of tickets you need. I will send you my pp address. The cost with the pp fee will be $26.06. I have close to 40 people on the list at the moment. There will be great food and fun. Please don't wait to the last minute as there will be a chance it will be sold out and we have a lot of other things to do as the meet gets closer. If it doesn't sell out by the meet, you will be able to buy tickets on Saturday but I believe it will sell out. Feel free to post in the thread that you are coming as well so it gets bumped up to the top.

I am sooo in for this, Eric is a great player and all around fun showman. I love his choice of guitar (60's Gibson Trini Lopez) now made famous again by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters.

Pick up a copy of the live at the Bamboo Room if you get a chance great music and not a bad recording either. It gives a solid representation of the show.

All that attended the show the FL crew saw at the Bamboo Room a few years back were blown away by him.

I'm in, although I'll doubt the jp#s comment until I see it

I'm going to back jp. Though I missed the Bamboo performance, I saw him at some sleaze bar jp and tyrion dragged me to. I was shocked that someone so good was playing there. When we were talking about getting live music, he was the first to come to mind as someone I would want to see/hear at CanJam, and was very excited when Mike tracked him down.
