Review coming soon.....ALO Au/Ag vs Silvercab-Pro and iQube vs. Diablo (pics!)

I have to burn in the Diablo, but it should make or an interesting review just from a brief listen. It sitting here on the wall-wart just playing music, so it should be about a week before I review it, as I want the sound to pretty much level out. Given the fact that nobody really has given any info on as to how long the Diablo takes for burn-in, I'm figuring 150-200 hours should be enough. If it hasn't flattened out by then, I guess I'll just keep going until it's seems like it's plateaued.

The iQube is fairly burned in already, but nothing like letting it burn-in more!!!!

Also, I'm waiting on a Qables Silvercab-Pro to arrive:
Qables.com ยป Silvercab-pro introduced!

Comparing it to the ALO Au/Ag cable is going to make things interesting for sure. Can't wait, as the Silvercab-Pro cable should be arriving any day now. I've grown quite fond of gold/silver combos with Grado's. Rather, I've had a pleasant experience with them, especially the ALO Au/Ag cable. I want to see how the Qables stacks against it!

Both amps will ALSO be added to the review found in my sig once this review is posted, as well as a separate review/comparison for the cables as requested.

Also as requested, equipment being used will be:

Headphones: SR80, RS2, DT770, UM2, RP21

Sources: Laptop using Foobar and/or iTunes with lossless files, as well as 128-256 aac and/or mp3, iPod Nano 1st Gen, and hopefully a DIYmod Mini with 16gb CF card by the time the amps are burned in depending on funds.

DAC: Keces DAC-151
I MAY have a MisterX PPAv2, we'll have to see, as it's both dependent on finding the opamps I want as well as funds....we'll see.

Hasn't it always been available? Like I said in other threads, I stopped following what happened with that whole debacle, so pardon any ignorance I have on the topic. But it's been up on the LaRocco site for awhile now. FWIW, I haven't had any "crappy contact issues" with him...

I don't know, that is why I was asking. From all that I have read, contact is variable to none and availability is very on and off but mostly off from what I have read. I was hoping someone might have current information on availability.

Hmmm....I guess the contact is variable to none, I haven't had problems personally. Another person who PM'd me has had nothing but a pleasant experience as well....

Well count me confused then as this is the very opposite of what I have read but that is good. What does the Diablo cost now or did you get yours recently?

Yeah, it's definitly the reason as to why it's such a heated topic around here. Like I said, I haven't had any bad contact issues, as some others haven't either apparently. Perhaps they're just scared to speak up?

I guess he just pissed of the WRONG people, and it's now what he's known for even if it isn't totally the case. It's kinda like being a good person but just having a bad day(s) and just screwing up with that one wrong person(s) who happens to be in the mafia. The one time/times you screw up, it's absolutely the WRONG time to screw up, lol. Everybody screws up one time or another, a shame that's what he's known for.

It is still $520 shipped CONUS.

How would you rank the Diablo, for sound quality against what you have heard. If it is in your other thread I apologize.
I'm going to put my two cents in like it or not.

1) Equating two years of waiting from people who paid in advance to having a "bad day" is grossly understating the facts.

2) If I were to let it be known that I'd review a Diablo (most probably favorably) I'm sure I'd have no trouble getting Larry to reply to my emails.

3) My opinion is this review is a bad idea that will only bring more unwanted attention to a vendor that clearly doesn't mind taking his customers money only to let them stew for two years with little to no updates. And then to be poor to respond to the myriad of problems with the units once they finally saw the light of day.

These are only my opinions and I won't be arguing or posting more in this thread. But I believe people need to be informed about this product, and hope they'll use the search feature to research it further before making any purchase.
