Got myself a pit crew finally!

Of course it took almost two hours to change over my tires, but the crew chief was entertained. Plus he now knows what a torque wrench is . Eight years old and counting.

I explained how to use the torque wrench after he assured me that the bolts were "tight enough already, Dad!"
Yes, I retorqued them after a quick run, nothing bad happened!
Glad the snow is finally about gone.

I'm glad to see your boy involved. My nine year old son,Miles, has a dirt bike and a set of tools. He knows all his socket and wrench sizes and keeps his box very organized.I'm also glad to see that you torque your lugnuts instead of just tightening them down.

My son and I will be building a 1955 Chevy Bel-Aire 2 door sedan as a father-son project when he older and more patient.Kids are so much fun.

Yes, it's actually a marketing test car for what became the 4-door viggen. Which made it a steal in 1999. Rated at 241 hp, and 248 foot-pounds torque. While getting a tick under 30mpg, and 0-60 of 5.9 seconds. It's been a sweet ride, even with the absurd torque-steer, for the last 105,000 miles.

Tuberoller: cool project for you and your boy! Also glad you are feeling better now. That was a scare. My son does not have a formal tool box just yet, but he's always right there, whether it's the car, computer, or even the occasional plumbing project. My father was a TSGT in SAC on the B52 flightline, so I was similarly into his stuff whever I could be.

I used to race SCCA showroom before having my main man. Traded crew time for a ride in a 944t, and did maybe a dozen trials in a Formula Atlantic S2000. Gotta love that hewland transaxle. What a blast.
Now I cut corners on the way to and from work. It's about 32 miles of twisty backroad through farm country. Watching out for stray livestock is the biggest concern.

Sweet is what I thought, too. It's actually hotter than the final production version. I only wish it had about 60,000 less miles on it .

Oh well, I was smiling the whole time . Due to changes in my job, my next car is very likely to be a Hyundai.
