can you compare the feel and size of the Shure Olive's and Comply Foams? and maybe with monster supertip foams if possible

Comply is really soft to the touch while Olive is dense., Monster foam super tips is even denser than Olive. Comfort wise, Comfort is the best while Monster is the least. The difference in size between Comply and Olive has already included on the first place, I'll put in the Monster supertip next time, but you can check them out here in my MTPC review.post #228 of 3769/20/11 at 12:42amHey ClieOS, I looking for a single flange tips for my sm3 v2 the problem that there's no info regarding the nozzle size of the iem's and no info regarding the tips nozzle size only sizes like S,M,L

I haven't seen a SM3 v2 yet but I have tried the original SM3. I reckon the nozzle side should be identical between them. If that's the case, it should be about the same as typical Shure / Westone nozzle size so anything that fits Shure / Westone should fit SM3 v2 as well.

ok, thanks. I prefer foam but i guess that foam would muddy up the sound of the tridents.post #233 of 3769/20/11 at 10:36am- LizardKing1

The IEMs are crap, but they do come with 2 sized pairs of silicone tips and 1 pair of foam tips.
My ears are extremely picky with tips. It's not even a question of comfort, they simply don't seal. Usually a tip that fits well in my left ear fits badly on my right, and vice-versa. The best tip in terms of fit and comfort I ever tried was the Sony Hybrids and I was a happy camper with those. Until one day I really wanted to try some foam tips, and I got those (I won't tell you how much it costs to import some Comply foam tips to my country). The foams didn't fit for me, but the silicone ones did. Not only that, but they improved the sound (my RE-Zeros had a 5mm nozzle, and the Hybrids had a 2.5mm hole). The difference was huge, it was like all the sound above 500Hz had been traped inside the tip and had finally been set free, causing an eargasm ^.^ it's like a Sennheiser tip's opening, only slightly larger, it lets everything out. The fit/seal is not as good as the Hybrids, but it works fine with me. I can't vouch for the foamies, but comparing to what Comply charges it doesn't seem like a very bad deal either. If you have a hard time with tips like I did and you want a cheap solution, try these. If they fail, it's only 15€ you lose.

Quote:Actually the new Comply Ts series doesn't mud up the sound. It is a more expensive option but it is well worth the investment if you prefer foam tips.

So i got my westone 3 few days ago, the big P series seem to fit me well but I feel like it'll be better if it's bigger. would shure olives help me get a more secure feel? is the large one more bulkier than the P series? Since W3 has a short nozzle and I think the olives are shorter would this be bad for the bass?

It probably would. Yes, Olive is 'fuller' / denser than Comply. I don't have any of the W series but olive is what I use on my UM2.post #237 of 3769/27/11 at 10:26amI'd like to try the Shure Olives, but I wasn't sure which size to get. If my favorite tip is the ME Elec silicone bi-flanges, which size of Shure Olives should I get?

Generally I'll recommend the mid size as that's the most common size that fits most.

It will, but only when you squeeze it really hard. I really recommend JAYS foam for GR07. You can get JAYS from stereotypeaudio.com if you in North Anarica or pjbox.co.uk for the rest of the world.Return HomeBack to Forum: Portable Headphones, Earphones and In-Ear Monitors- [FYI] Various IEM's tips pictorial comparison (updated Sept 29th, 2011)
