I have a 5.5 gen Ipod and just purchased a RSA Tomahawk amp. I primarily listen to hip-hop, jazz, r&b, & some classic rock, all encoded at 320kbs. Would the FX500 match my setup and listening preference?

No, not really. Sorry Mark.

On second thought, Grado's bass do not go to the subterranean depths of the FX500 but they do have nice mids. I don't hear many similarities between them myself.

My wife stole mine... that is fine, because I get to use them too! But she has them in a tightly sealed purse and growls at me when I get near. No problem, she will take shower soon and they will be all mine!

I've purchased this IEM based from all the good reviews here..

I find good synergy between the Victor FX500 and Sony X-1050, I set the eq. 0,+1,0,+1,0 CB+1

It's a good upgrade from the stock sony earphone.

Also I've tried to test it in my sansa fuze and it's really good, i find the mids are a bit forward which i like but the trade-off is the bass. A bit more of bass is needed..

Using it to my sony x-1050, i can't believe how this phones sound, it's like a klipsch gmx 2.1 inside my ears, with better bass that i need.

Overall i'm soooo satisfied with it almost, but there's only one problem that i hope that the folks here can help me out, I NEED GOOD NOISE ISOLATION with this phones..

Any recommended eartips.. I Hope someone will ANSWER it..

Thanks..

Is anyone here tried to test the eartip of creative ep630 or skull candy with this phone..

I've lost eartip of my creative ep630 (large)..

TO: chinesekiwi
Does the Koss Eartips will help to increase noise isolation? If yes how much 20%?

Please post the links of the Koss Eartips in ebay...

Thanks in advance..

i used the skullcandy white selecon tips on the fx500 and its really great, the bass tighteness up and soundstage increases slightly.

Sony Hybrids. There are knockoffs on ebay that work the same.

Thanks for all of the responses.

I'll try the sony hybrid and skull candy eartips. I'll be posting the results after I've received the items.

Hi,sent for Hybrids,Sony ones from USA,also Hybrids from Hong Kong & USA.
Not much diff in any of them, only tried large size of each, not much diff size measurement wise(bit thou). Some will suit one person, compared to some suit another person more etc ie slight diff in the feel when inserted in ears.Quality wise, can't tell much difference.
Main things,Sony ones 4 sizes/pairs,Hong Kong 3 sizes/pairs,other USA ones pick what you want to total 9 pairs(Choice S/M/L).Sony easily the more expensive.
Main thing it seems to me with these, collar that goes over IEM's actual stem is thicker,so its more like putting in a rubber bung in the ear.Other thing compared to other Tips i have fitted to FX500's,C710's hole at front/port is/ends up a lot smaller.

eBay UK

Price Sony Ones from USA TOT $11.98 inc P & P
Others from USA TOT $8.98 inc P & P
Others from Hong Kong TOT £3.00 inc P & P
Paid via PayPal so there exchange rate conversion.

Cheers BOB

Well i finally got my FX500s today. At first listen i was less then unimpressed when i A-B'd with my Atrios.I would say disappointed. They are 2nd hand from another member, but not fully burned in.About 40-50hours,apparently.So i plugged them in my ALO Mini^3 with iPod and started my burn in.I changed tips and used my Super Fi Pro EB medium tips. And i started to hear potential and liked what i was hearing.I let them burn in some more, hearing less sibilance and more bass that was there but needs to be unleashed. Now i opened up the housing and found small thin sponge filters.I looked around and found a material sample that looks and feels like wool.I used a paper hole puncher to cut 2 small circles.I put them in behind the sponge filters and confirmed what i suspected.Less sibilance and more full, heavier bass.Sound stage is fantastic as it was from the start.Mids are punchy but a little laid back. But these are the most detailed IEMs i've ever heard.Very analytical, but in a good way. They are definitely seal dependant and burn in is a must before a final verdict.I think the housing setup should be different to unleash the great potential bass.I hear the bass but have a feeling it could be emphasized some how.And i am starting to like the natural organic sound quality.Well lets see how burn in progresses. So far the sound is getting better and better.I'm recharging my S9,and curious how they will pair.

So what would you recommend for DEEP bass? FX500 or Atrio m5/m8?
