Help me make the Triple Fi fit???

Thread Starter
Got the Triple Fi late last week and they just won't fit. Tried all the UE stock tips, read Tony's (antonyfirst) thread on the Triple Fi along with other suggestions. Short of buying the Comply tips, does anyone have any other ideas on how these things fit??

O and one other thing: do the tips go into your ear--like inserting like the Etys--or do they rest just outside the ear canal?? I thought for awhile maybe I'm trying to insert the tips too deeply.

Hate to return these without further experimentation, especially after everyone who does get a proper fit raves about their sound qualities

I'd think that for smaller or more oval ear canals, these just may not ever fit properly.

They do rest further out than typical IEM's and so getting a seal is a bit trickier. I notice if I move around, I'll lose the seal. I can't do aerobic activities like I can with other IEM's.

have you tried putting them in the opposite ears, ie the left in the right and right in the left, you can switch the cables if you like, that way the ue logo part is against the ear and it sits more flush

it would be a shame if you couldnt make them fit, they are ace

that changes the fit, mite not make it better, although you may have tried it

cant find the link

I don't know if this is of any help to you, but there is an IEM insertion video for the triple.fi on ultimateears.com. It also has the instructions for the "flip-flop" triple.fi mod.

They don't insert deeply like Etys...but you must hear the bass to know they are in deep enough.

It can be frustrating but I have learned to deal with it. I use the smallest single flange tip and get the wires working for me. I only have a problem with my left ear but I have found that if I keep fiddling with the memory wire I can get it to hold the housing in place fairly well.

Call UE Customer Service and tell them that you are having a hard time getting a seal. Ask them to send you a grey "fit kit" (like the ones that come with the super.fis)....The grey silicone tips are so much softer than the black tips. I have never been able to get a good seal with the black tips, but the medium sized grey ones work like a suction cup.

I also had problems with proper seal, but now I've just put on the shure foamies and that improved tremendously.

None of the tips provided worked for me. Perhaps it's the same for you...

Also the mod of switching the right and left is really a good improvement as well.
