$60-$80 IEM for use with Shuffle @ 256kbps

Hi folks,
I'm gonna get the new 2GB Shuffle and can't seem to be able to decide witch in ear canal phones to use with it. I would like to keep the phones in the $60 to $80 dollar range. I plan on setting up an itunes play list at 256kbps AAC for the Shuffle and keeping the rest of my stuff lossless.

I mostly listen to Jack Johnson, James Blunt, EELS type of music. but also get into some Floggin Molly and John Fogerty sometimes. So I don't need an IEM that can necessarily do tecno, heavy metal or rap well.

I'm not gonna use a head amp or anything just straight off the Shuffle.

Importance factors are as follows.
1. sound quality
2. comfort
3. durability
4. portability/size
5. esthetic's/appearance

theres a few that u can get around for that price.

superfi 3s
shure e2c - shure se110 (possibly)
and a couple more... someone might wanna expand on this.

Seems to be price gap in that 60-80 dollar range. better change it to sub $100 dollar range. Thanks.

If you can stretch your budget a little (get used to that phrase if you plan on posting here a lot ), check out Jays D-Jays. They're very small and comfortable.

^ All of those are within your budget, all good entry level IEM's. The d-jays would be my choice if you are willing to go to $100.

alot of people have recommended the super.fi 3 which is the one i like aswell and even checkout wilson at jaben.

For techno and rap? I don't think that would be a good choice given the lean bass of the SF3, there would be a fast onset of upgraditis!!!

Navmau, how similar are those phones you listed to the V-MODA vibes? My brother has a similar price range (~$60) and he wants the huge bass presence that the vibes have.

the vibes would have the big bass, although not very controlled and it is open so isolation would not be overly effective. The other option is the Mylar XBi (extra bass version of the X3i).

I second the SF3 recommendation. I find them very comfortable and like the sound. If you need more bass temporarily you can boost it through eq. They can still be found for 50-60 if you search around. Check out your local Radio Shack, too.

My bad...got confused with another thread.

Yes, the SF3, ER-6i would suit your needs. I really liked the ER-6i's (with Shure black foams) when I wasn't so into trance and didn't need the big bass of future sonics.
