I have seen this product on there site...
Strange, they say that they are able to transport the Digital signal directely from an ipod just with an dock !
I don't understand how they process to extract Digital signal without mod the motherboard.
And price is very low compare to another way....

If someone have some informations.

Thank Scott, i'll read everythings.
But there isn't Twice Dac in the signal path ?
So if the first (inside Ipod ) is'nt great, i 'm not sure than it'll be better after...

It look like the iTransport pulls the bit-perfect digital signal directly from the iPod, bypassing the internal DAC and allowing the use of any DAC of your choosing.

Exactly. Wadia worked with Apple to accomplish this. Thus no need for a mod.

yep. that's the whole point of this thing - to bypass the ipod internal DAC so you can feed your music into a higher-end DAC of your choosing. if you have the largest ipod of 160GB, then for WAV format, that would allow you to store approximately 250 CDs and if your music is encoded with Apple lossless, then that would translate to about twice that, but probably a little less.

Ok, it' great.
i had never heard before than there was a way to obtain digital signal on the line out connector without mod anything inside an ipod.
Maybe i was wrong.
I'll read the dedicated post and thank you for yours answers.

i'm starting to come around to this thing. something like the following would be pretty nice and very flexible.

160GB iPod > wadia itransport > Azur 840C > Apache > Headphones

i wish my G08 had a digital input. : /

The Wadia iTransport sure looks really nice.
It can make a nice source, feeding an external DAC.

Ok, so if i have well understanding this thing, it's only work with new Ipod generation like Classic Ipod, Ipod touch.
it's a great step in audio improvement.

Someone only needs to work with a remote control and it would almost seem to be perfect.

Additionally, how is the XLR version of 170i though the price is a little increased?
