Yes, you must use a USB cable running from your MacBook to your DAC. It is also important to make sure that you select the USB audio output from the "Sound" preference pane. Which DAC are you using?
Thanks for the reply. I understand that I need to be using the USB cable. I have a Pico on the way. Will I just be able to plug in a USB, connect the Pico, and select the USB out as the audio port? I don't see where to do this in the Itunes sound preferences under playback. Does it only appear when I plug in a DAC?
