Apparently, Oppo has confirmed such development and has already obtained agreements on necessary licenses and parts....

Oppo make very good players at a very fair price. I hope they get around the region coding nonsense.

I wonder if there will be a hack that allows unrestricted 1080i output over component? I love that about my Oppo 970HD.
