Pico vs Predator...Decission time - Page 4

Cool. I'll just run it 24/7 for the next two weeks. I have 62 days of music in my iTunes library.

Sound in the end,was the deciding factor (as at first I did not hear the Pico,not until recently had I done so).

But at first it was the better battery life,the much better lifetime warranty,looks,and overall expirience in this 'industry' of cottage builders.Not to mention Rays high level of simply excellent customer service,before,and most importantly after the sale.

As well as the fact that RSA does not have threads about shipping issues,issues of communication,or delays,etc,etc,etc.... nor a history of such on going problems,as some of the other builders do.

What threads on shipping issues are you referring to, is that single incident of lost by USPS package. Was it Justin's fault, or may be Ray somehow warranted against things like that?

Did you personally have or at least know anyone who did not receive proper before or *after the sale* service from headamp? I have had 5 (five) different amps made by Justin, and every time was getting a stellar customer service. You haven't had a sniff of a single headamp product, or had any experience with provided by the company service, yet keep posting your far fetched comments over and over again in every single Pico related thread. Why? Is there anything in that for you personally or you just trying to boost your Predator ego?
Fanboyism is never a good thing, it's ten times worse when competitors products are undeservedly bad mouthed like that. Predator can be better or worse product than Pico, or it can be just different, we have plenty of people who prefer one or another. Let the product speak for itself, stop pouring crap on manufacturers, you were caught on that in other threads before, yet doing it again.

I have. I have sent numerous emails with three different accounts to Justin regarding repair for my AE-1. Somehow he decided to ignore all my emails. In terms of responding emails, he is no different from Dr.Xin to me. Neither has replied to any of my emails. And I know what some of you may say but I can't call him. It's a darn expensive international long distance call plus I live in Asia. I would have to stay up all night to make a phone call.

Naw dude, Andrew_WOT was talking to Manny Calavera, who obviously has become a "fanboy" of RSA products ever since he chose the Predator over the Pico on his personal terms, even though his experience of portable amps and companies is rather limited and he pokes his head into every Predator/Pico topic to flaunt his new toy.

When I read Manny's post, Xin was the first name that popped into my head. I wasn't thinking he meant anyone else... Oh Well.

The amps I have heard,and owned over the years is far higher then I have talked about here,not boomana large,but large.Dont ever assume,as it makes a huge ass out of you.Far fetched to you,and any other other person who seems to think so.I am sure that the Pico can be better or worse to any number of people on here or elsewhere.I respect that Andrew,but that has nothing to do with this at all.It has to do with certain people on here asking what people think of the two are better amps.I have every right to give my opinion about what I have owned,and or what I have heard.No where on this forum,is there any rule stating I cant.I wont talk about Meier amps as I have never heard one,not one.When I do get the chance to listen to one,I may one day come here,and offer my views.However flawed you or anyone else think they may be.I don't care,others have called me out here,and ended up shutting up,and taking it all back,when we got the chance to talk to me offline civilly.Instead of pulling a boomana and having the gaul to call me a liar/infer I am,because my opinion so differs from theirs.I have to let the product speak for itself,its a good amp,and dac.But in my eyes,there is better.If you dont like that,well,to damn bad.

I have based my opinions on all the equipment I have come across,on anecdotal evidence here from many different members,as well as my own experiences with others equipment,and those of others here in Ottawa I know personally,that you wont believe this,but have a life,and don't post on here.For whatever reason.Most people that are into music and Hifi gear don't post on the net,never mind here of all places.

The first person to get it right ! I was thinking of Xin based on all the bitching,but to be honest,yes I had a few manufacturers on my mind when making some of these comments.Some seem to have issues with basic
customer service,some popular,some not so.

The funny thing,is Pico owners and fan(bois)'s have done the exact same thing in 'Pico vs Predator' threads.and instead of being called out on it,others cajolled along and thought it cute,obviously so,based on thier immediate comments,and NUDGE NUDGE WINK WINK type reactions on it.I said nothing,but its not ok for the 'other side' to do it !? Maybe you didnt see the thread and eh,thats cool to,but.

Whatever,I see it like this,these two well desgned products have polarized this community like never before.But the haters have been pretty much all

With all this, I ended up ordering a Predator yesterday... To see if i like it more than my Pico or not... Sigh...

I have heard a Pico, an excellent amp, a piece of artwork to see and hold.

I own a Predator and find it to be much smoother across the 5-8k band and with a warmth in the bottom end around 125-200hz that I really like on the RS-1s.

With my HD-600s I have not found a better portable amp. Turning the corner around 500 hours of break in and it just seems to get better. My favorite amp from Ray to date. Something else I notice as compared to the two Hornets that I owned is that is seems to have a faster attack for transients in percussion, anyone else notice this?

I use it about 50% DAC with an HP DV9000 laptop and 50% portable with a 6g IPOD and 3g Nano.

Ill be keeping this little amp for a long time.

Most of what you are hearing will just refine more and more. I am still amazed. amazed.

You obviously haven't been around very long if you think this has polarized the community like never before. You might do a bit of research before talking about haters and breezes.
