Thread Starter
my old sony spressa crx140e is slowly dying of laseritis. many of the copies wont track on my older pcdp.

best buy has a Digital Research 52x24x52 cdrw model# d522452 for $19.00 after rebates.
can anyone offer advice or recommendations? would the yamaha or plexor be a better investment?

Also replacing my hard drive with a western digital 40gb.
anyone got info on these?

My brother recently got a "Digital Research" 52x24x52 CD-RW drive for that price. Digital Research doesn't actually make that drive; they merely purchase drives made by other companies (in my brother's case, it's a Lite-On 52x24x52 CD-RW drive).

I got myself a "Buslink" 52x CD-RW drive myself last week for the $19.99 price after rebate - but my particluar drive is an AOpen drive.

Note that either package comes bundled with a version of Nero Burning ROM 5.5 software (which many people prefer over that Roxio Easy CD Creator crap).

If it is a rebadged lite-on it should be very good. They made one of the best burners out there last year (don't know if it is still true). I have a lite-on 48/12/48 for 8 months and its great. Beside its only $19.00 not $190.00 like back in the days.
