GE JAN-CG-6SL7GT

Tone, taste, and tenacity. It's my new silver plate.

He says he has more of these, I would recommend it. His name is Mattijs. I believe it was 39 euros.

I have two of these too, I really like it. I have a newer 'coin base' as well, but it isn't as good.

Just on first impressions, the fully chromed Sylvania I just got is the best sounding - followed by an RCA VT229 VERY similar to this GE. Interestingly, the RCA Red Base I got a while back doesn't sound as good to me. Seems a little boomy and under defined.
The Ken-Rads I have take the 'most detailed' prize, but so far the American tubes have the most listen-ability. They seem a bit fuller.
I have a Black base, red lettering square support Brimar on the way, I can't wait to hear that...

Xxxtreme Rectification / Singles / EY 500

Skylab .... perhaps you can help me find a match for this fine fellow.

I'm sorry if I missed this, but has someone confirmed with Eddie Current that the EY500/6EC4A can actually be used in place of the 6D22S in the Zana?

Also, is it known if rectifiers can make a sonic difference in the Zana?

Yes, me.

I thought you were the tube authority here ? You're telling people not to pay too much for a tube, and you don't even know if it works with the unit ? You guys aren't following this thread very well.

Wow, that was a bit harsh, don't you think? Only the maker of the amp can say for sure, since the 6EC4A is *NOT* a direct equivalent to the 6D22S. I was just asking to be sure - again, sorry I missed that you had checked already. My comments before about tubes were related to the 6SL7, which I have an extensive knowledge of (as well as a very large collection of).

No need to get huffy, especially when you were asking me for advice.

I know where to get RCA and GE 6EC4A's for $6 each - www.vacuumtubes.net

Not harsh at all, honest. What's harsh is me directly addressing you, and you asking if anyone has even "asked Eddie". Yes I've seen your collection on your Photobucket.

So does Eddie. These are the ones he recommended 3 months ago.

Well, I certainly meant no disrespect at all, sorry if you took it that way. You, on the other hand, DID mean disrespect. So good day to you, sir.

I think you have it backwards. Obviously it hasn't bothered me this long. You jumped in and told everybody what to do, and you don't even know what is being discussed. That's all. Good day to everyone.

Scroll down a bit - $10

Might need to confirm that he has Phillips specifically but I guess that's what those "Holland" ones are.

Cheers.

Look at the diagonal diode. That is the difference on this one. I can't roll it because I don't have a match, supposed to roll in pairs. I really was asking you to get you involved, and I thought you might enjoy seeing these beautiful (sounding) tubes. The Philips are more precise, and tame the bass, but the Telefunkens are flat-out musical.

I've currently got the Silver Plate running with the Philips.
