I know the feelings folk have to Monster, but.

I was at the Canadian version of Radio Shack the other night and I saw some cables from Monster. They were to connect an Ipod to a stereo via Monster right and left inputs from an IPOD headphone jack. Two questions, one is the obvious. Is it worth $30 CDN? And when you play it on a home stereo, does it need to be through a special input on the pre-amp? Or just use any input, I lost my tapedeck to breakdown (it's not mine ;-) ).?

I have the Monster iPod mini to RCA and I think it sounds great. Paid $20 for that it is well built and I have been happy with it for at least a year.

Use any RCA input except phono.

If you are in the Montreal area, Addison sell the Monster cable 8' mini to RCA for 15$.

Why not use the line out from your iPod? It's one of their major advantages, hardly any players have a real line out anymore.

He is still gonna need a mini to rca unless he wants to splurge and get a LOD to RCA but those dont usually run cheap.

The Nyko one looks pretty beefy. You could also DIY one (for cheap) if you wanted to make sure the cables and solder joints are done properly.

Hey all, good responses. I do currently have a Quables LOD to my Headsix. If I did not turn on Headsix and just ran something like the monster mini to rca via the output of the headsix would that work. Would it be as good as the Nyko LOD to RCA. BTW, thanks I can never remember tech names when I need them.

I don't know if it would hurt anything, but I think it could result in distortion. It would be much cleaner to run it directly from your LOD, otherwise you would be double-amping.

Is there a pin out?

I was wondering if I go the route of getting the LOD to mini, is there a pin out that is important? In other words have people done this and not blown up their IPODs? Something like that LOD with 3.5 output and the Monster cable would allow me to run into my pre-amp. That would be a cool thing.

You do not need to worry about any pin-out. I utilised a ALO Cryo lod from my ipod to my headphone amp w/out any problem. I want to try the other lod at $10 and see if I will get any difference in SQ between them.

With the $10 lod you connect your mini to RCA to the input of your tube amp and voila! How can you go wrong for $10??

I bought a Monster mini to RCA and the thing looks and sound just fine. The lenght of 8 feet is great.

Hi apparently I can not ask questions on E-bay as I have no-postitive (or negative) comments about me. So I am wondering where I can get the LOD to 3.5 other than e-bay. Any one know where, or if they are in Canada and want to order a second let me know and I will split s/h costs.
