Stax O2 + cables

What cables do you use with Omega 2?
I've tried a whole range and I've settled on my own design based around thin, slow drawn silver conductors in natural insulation. When I get my new source and finish my amp there will be nothing but silver wiring in my main system.

I use a balanced Ridge Street Audio Designs Poiema!!! Signature.
A cryogenic treated silver cable with natural insulation (most probably cotton). I love it!

Blue Jeans LC-1. But I'm not a big cable guy, and I've only had my OII for about a week.

Right now the plan is to go all Mogami, since they are lighter.

spritzer, besides your DIY cables, what do you believe is best in the cable market for the O2s?

Has someone tried a carbon cable?
Now I have here for tests this one: Van den Hul: The SECOND ® (Halogen Free)
I'm waitong for my Omegas and I wonder if it will be suitable for them...

Anyone tried the "carbon" sound?

I own a Van den Hul: The First and I've never like it. It's too mellow and slow for its own good.

Have you noticed any burn-in effect with this cable?
BTW I have "The Second" and I love it with my k701 setup. I think we are used to the more harsh sound of the metal cables but there is much "truth" in the sound of the carbon.

I bought it in 2001 so I don't remember any burn in but it's bad enough for me to only use it for digital duty now. Most common metal cables are harsh due to the way they are drawn and the plastic insulators used. Use a soft silver wire with natural insulation and you great all the smoothness of carbon but the sound isn't as slow and lacking in dynamics.

Btw. since you are using it in a K701 system you are just compensating for the K701 so you will have very different impressions with a much better transducer such as the SR-007.

Thanks, spritzer!

But despite the so called "mellowness" in the mids of the carbon cable I've noticed a great improvement of the soundstage of my AKGs, a far better detail, better 3D, etc.
I compared it to my OCC silver interconnects in teflon insulation and some V.D.H, Cardas and QED interconnects.

So I will report how it collaborates with Omega 2

Please do. I do think that Carbon has some merit as a conductor as I really liked the metalized Carbon cable Stealth makes. The connectors vdH uses are also an issue and the Stealth ones are much, much better so that might be a part of it.
