Keyboard (piano, not computer) advice

So, I need a new keyboard, and I figure that Head-Fi'ers out there somewhere will be able to provide some good advice.

My GF has an electric keyboard, but it's so crappy that it's driving me up the wall (way less than 88 keys, no force sensitivity, so it's about like playing a really tiny crappy electric organ).

I need a keyboard with (a) all 88 keys, (b) proper force-responsive keys, and (c) a decent-sounding internal speaker. Beyond those three requirements, I want the CHEAPEST thing there is (I'm a graduate student).

Any good recommendations?

For about $500, the Yamaha P70 is probably the best you could do. Anything lower than that is a Casio, and as a pianist, you'll want to avoid those.

Looks like a pretty good bargain, thanks!

Casio PX-100.

Casio may not be known for instruments but this one is an exception. I think it's by far the best no-frills electric piano for under $1000 and I've tried all the Yamaha (including the P70), Roland and Kawai models in this price range, of which there aren't too many actually. The touch sensitivity and dynamic range can't compare with real pianos but for an electric piano you could do a lot worse for a lot more money. I bought mine two years ago and still think it has tremendous value.

The Casio PX200 has a few more samples and sounds, but if you just want piano sound, it's the same thing. For above $1000, Yamaha or Roland would be my picks.

I'll second the PX-100. It's the cheapest decent piano that satisifies all of your requirements.

If you're at all near Ft Wayne (I69 and US30), stop in at Sweetwater and try them out before you drop the cash

Was the Casio PX-100 replaced by the PX-110? I don't see the 100 on the Casio website. I've also seen a Yamaha P80 but their website only shows the P70. Which is the newer model?

I'm fairly sure the p70 was part of their old lineup. I own a p140, and I'm very happy with it(it was the only thing that would fit in my apartment).

My daughter picked up a Behringer, black, weighted keys, from Costco for 499. I have seen them on Craigs list for $400. We have a Steinway and when she got married she wanted a piano and it's good enough for her.
