NORDOST INTERCONNECT OPINIONS NEEDED

Has anyone used or have any experience using the interconnect(pic below)
I'm one of the cable is a cable type of guys. I still don't understand why some companies charge over $100 for a cable when you can buy the exact same parts for $12 or less and make a cable in about 20 mins. Talk about WAY inflated labor charges
Anyway the cable below uses Nordost Wyrewizard pro series cable. And the total price of this set-up is $27 shipped overseas. Which seems like a steal IMO. the same vendor sales Line out docks with gold female connection(Turbo style) for $14 shipped. Any opinions? Thx...I already have the Line out

Look up threads by Patrick82. He's spent quite a bit of time with Nordost products.

It looks nice and it is cheap enough. It won't sound any worse than the expensive stuff me thinks. Treat yourself to a bit of audio jewellery if you like.

I have Nordost 4 Flat speaker cable. This is the ultra thin bi-wire cable that can be run under carpet and skirting boards. I bought enough to make up a matched pair of 5m cables and added the connectors myself. I can't hear any difference from my original single wire cables. I am glad I bought it cheap from a chap on ebay. Mrs Aaardvarks is very happy now that the cables are hidden from view.

Nordost is the sort of audio jewellery that you never pay retail for. It is something to lift your mood, a treat, but it proly makes not one jot of difference to the sound

Who makes this cable? Looks like a pretty good deal.

Nordost's cables are distorted which is why it sounds like real life. Valkyrja has more low-level detail than Valhalla which makes it sound warm and flat. Valhalla cuts off the lowest level of details while enhancing the levels above it, this also makes it sound colder, tighter and more distinct.

I have tried different lengths and the shorter cables had the least distortion. The best interconnect I have ever tried is 7cm Valkyrja 22awg, it's about $15 after cutting it out from the full cable.

The brand name Nordost isn't necessarily indicative of quality throughout the entire line. Chances are good that the Wyrewizard series is just a rebrand of typical bulk cable. That doesn't make it a bad value or a bad cable, but don't expect the sort of performance you might get with one of their custom-manufactured cables in the higher lines.

Judging by the cost of that completed interconnect, at least Nordost are charging fair prices for their lower lines.
