Combining 2 cables - Possible?

Hey all,

Recently i acquired an HHF-1 but the cable is too short (1m) and i bought an extension (1m) to make them longer. The question is can i permanently "combine " them together since the plugs in the middle is kinda huge and heavy.

And if it possible can someone guide me into the correct path?

i'm not one of the DIY pros here, so I don't have much experience, but I believe that wouldn't be a good idea. It is possible, though. I think an extra connection in the signal path is not good, and it may break easily. Why not recable them?

the hhf-1 is a woody headphone and its really easy to break them. plus only larry knows the secret of the blacksilver. the waiting time to get them recabled is around 8 weeks plus another few hundreds.

You can splice the wiring together. A neat job will look nice enough and will actually be better than your current connection via plug and jack since you would eliminate two interfaces. The key is the splicing of the wires, good solder and adhesive lined heatshrink to provide strain relief on the solder connection.
