iPOD DIYMOD 40GB

Hi people, I doubled up when doing a DIY iPOD line-out mod recently so I have one spare. It's been done with solid silver teflon and wired directly to the line-out pins.
Very similar to this but the headphone-out is left intact
It comes with a Sync doc that has been modified with film output caps and I've built several SMD class D amps so all work is clean and tidy.
The Pod is Mint and it has a very strong battery.
Oh yes, it has Rockbox on there for playing FLAC etc, but can be reset to regular ipod if required.
Looking to see if there is any interest

Thanks
Lee

some pics / etc might be nice...what are you looking to get for it? im not sure how much interested you will receive by simply "claiming" to be doing work on par with RWA's highly regarded iMod....whether or not it truly is, without pics and such its just too much of a mystery to buyers!!!

...another aside question, how can you post in this forum with only 8 posts...i was under the understanding that the minimum was 50 posts for being allowed to engage in the FS/FT forums??? ...sorry if this is too OT, OP

I can't answer this one, I had no idea there was a restriction

Anyway, yes you are right, I need to prove the quality of workmanship.

Piccies

Hi people, OK I've brought in my camera this morning and there are some decent photos on there, not brilliant but not bad. There's none of the LOD though but I can open it up and take some more tonight..
At the dock pins - underneath the board SMD's removed:

Top shot, neatly routed:

At the DAC - nice and tidy:

Solid silver in teflon sheath, there is some bonding resin over the lower conections but I didn't do a post-shot.
All SMD's are removed from the signal path so the signal is pure all the way out.

The LOD/charger is very straight forward some quick pics will be easy even with my awful camera.

Didn't think I would get this much interest, hope you like my work.

.....and the LOD

Although the USB and charger still work, I do not use them when playing music as they introduce noise. Much better with the battery only.
The interface is a basic rockbox GUI that can be modified as you wish.
I have one with 'Lee's DIYMod' instead of the iriver wording......

SOLD

Thanks for looking

Boy that went quick. Nice work, someone got lucky.

Can you say how much it went for?
I'd be curious what it went for too, but even more so I'd like to know how to mod my own iPod. I'm sure RedWine does great work, but $250 is a lot to me. I worked in electronics manufacturing for many years so I am comfortable doing this sort of thing on my own if I can get some instructions :P (ie I can solder, but don't know what to solder where hehe)

Hi Guy's, lets just say that it was similar to the Redwine modification price but of course you got the Ipod thrown in as well as a sync charger......
Bargain!
