This is a great mod. I tried it a couple of years ago (sans holes) to alleviate the pain my SR225s were giving me - at the time I was wearing them 8+ hours daily. I have to dispute the claims on how drastically it changes the sound, but it does smooth it out to some degree. Then again, I may have used thinner pads.

Great ideal... I also have the RS1i's and I want my SR 325is's back.. I did this mod and it helped. I did not cut any hole and actually doubled the pads.. It does help alot.. I might consider keeping them.

Also I forgot to mention that it helped when I changed the iPod EQ to R and B.

Just get some Sennheiser PX100 pads and slip it under. I have them under my quarter modded comfies. Works great.

Easy. Done.
