UE Super.fi 4 v Denon C700 v AT ath-ck9 v jays q-jays

hi all
well i made a thread not too long ago bout the denons and the jays vs the super.fi 5pros...... got some help, but not as much as i expected unfortunately

any way.......... im still deciding on what headphones to buy!

Now, it is DEFINATELY out of these 4.

Requirements:
---Id prefer the headphone design was 'straight', and not on an angle, straight just happen to go in my ears better!

--- I DONT want 'over the ear' types

---Type of music i listen to, trance, techno, prog trance etc etc (dance music) I do like my bass (the music i listen to is full of it), but dont want it to overwhelming/over powering!

--- Main music soure currently is my phone, though am looking at getting a sony nwz-a818 (just need to save more $$$)



The super.fi 4's..... are they new in the UE range? I've never seen them before, nor heard anything bout them, but they look ace! And since the actual headphone is 'straight' (unlike the 5's and the jays djays) id prefer these than the other UE products. Any one heard them? whats the sq like?


The denons ive read plenty about on these forums, they fit my requirements going by what people say bout them!

The audio-technicas, i dont know much about, the images from Audiocubes show they are over the ear type (ala super.fi 5 pros) Now is it possible to wear these 'normally', or is over the ear the only option?

And the q-jays, they sound great, like the denons they seem to fit my requirements, just some people seem to be dissapointed with bass levels. I used to have the d-jays, the amount of bass they produced was sufficient in my opinion! Though a tad more wouldnt have hurt! Would people say the q-jays provide more bass over the d-jays?


any help is appreciated......... oooo........although i listen to music frequently........ im newish to the scene, have not tried too many headphones, the best ive had so far are the d-jays!

I know the djays (or did you mean qjays) can be worn both ways, and i hear they are very, very comfortable, which is something i want, a very comfortable fit!

The best fitting earphones ive had, surprisingly, are the sony ericsson hpm-70 (the headphones which come standard with sony ericsson walkman phones, the in ear ones) with the medium tips! Although the fit was very good, after listening for a while, my ears start to hurt a little!


That reminds me, they need to have a good fit (though i know it depends on the users ears) and i dont want them to start hurting after a while. I listen for a good couple hours a day on the train! oooo, another thing, they need to isolate well and i dont want too much sound leakage, better if none at all :-) .......

Id like something small in size, i know the qjays are the smallest out of the 4 (as far as i know)

So the audio technicas are bass shy? Would you say they produce enough bass for my type of music? Can you compare the bass to any other headphones?

Does any one know if the super-fi. 5 pros can be worn 'normally', or are they over the ear only?

Are the denons bulky? They seem on the large side going by online images. And i dont have the luxury of seeing any of these headphones in store, as ihave no idea which, if any, stores here in Melbourne, Australia sell any of these headphones!

Any one tested the UE super fi 4? they seem like a nice size, just need to know bout SQ, cant find much on the net bout them! And audiocubes wont ship them out of the USA, and UE site charge $70usd to ship here
(if i get the UE super fi 4's, can some one from the usa help me out? ill give a little reward too would appreciate it)

bass is only concern on the q-jays, can any one here compare the bass on them to the d-jays or denon c700's?

am i correct in saying the Denons are NOT 'armature' type earphones?

I think i might try the UE Super.fi 4's out, since no one has tested them! They are priced very well on www.soundearphones.com compared to other places! (im waiting on a reply bout the best price of the pro 5's, if they can do better, i 'may' go for them, can always sell if i dont like them!)

i dont know bout you pez, but if im spending over $100 on earphones, id prefer them to be brand new :-) even if they were only used once (these b stock ones)

ah well, all done and dusted! have placed my order for the 4's. The size seems much better for me too, i hear (and see) the 5's are too bulky!

Ill let you know how they sound, but beware, im no expert! So dont expect many 'technical' words or descriptions
