As long as screen and keyboard size aren't a concern. And as long as you want to run linux or windows.

If you're not looking for a full sized screen and keyboard, and you don't like macos, this probably isn't going to be the device you're looking for. Go crap on some other thread.

? I was simply saying a UMPC seems to be more usable. No need to get all defensive.

They sure are! There's one in the North Point Mall right here in beautiful Alpharetta, Georgia USA

I was feeling pretty negative about the air until i saw it in the flesh - bit bright screen and the thing's tough as nails, real hard aluminium; it feels a whole load tougher than my macbook. Still, they've taken away far too many features for me to even consider wanting one. You have to pay about double the price of a macbook for half the specs and features, and it's not even like the macbook is annoyingly large...

I'd give it some time.. maybe a year or so.. because of this new solid state HD.. I think the industry will also move in that direction in time to come.. the air should then get better specs..

I don't think you'll have to wait that long. The next revision should be out by summer and should include the new 45nm Intel chips and include a faster 128 gb ssd (optional) and a 120gb-5400 rpm hd (standard). Cooler, faster, better. When we get there, we will then be waiting for a 14" OLED screen before we can be truly cool. lol

The MBA looks ugly tbh, I much prefer the single colour scheme of the recent Apple laptops. If I was going small I'd get the MB, if I can live with larger, I'd get the 15" MBP

I hate red cars. I can't believe ferrari sells most of their cars in red.

i'm imagining my ideal dap: UMPC (probably raon everun) -> foobar -> headphone. just have to wait for them to go cheaper, probably next year.

Red is a faster color. This is a proven fact.
