Hi All,

I'm aware that there is a problem with pads for these headphones. Since I have an option of buying in Israel pads which fit these headphones, I've bought a few pair extra to offer here on Head-FI to these who are unable to get the pads from AKG.

These aren't the same as the AKG pads. They are pleater and not velour. However, they are much better than stock in comfort and feel.
Not only that, they are also better sounding as they a larger central hole for the sound to go through.

There are already 7-8 people here on Head-Fi who use these pads, I'll ask one or two of them to post here their thought on these so you'll know what they are.

I will also post pictures of them next to the stock (don't have a pair of velour pads) in a couple of days.

I currently have 5 pairs extra. As for price. I'll take about what it cost me to drive to the store (which is in a different city) + price + shipping + paypal.
It comes to 31$ per pair + 4$ shipping no matter how many pads you'll want. So one pair is 35$, two are 66$, paypal'd and shipped of course.

Do these fit the Akg 271s? How do they compare in feel and fit to velour? Where do you get the velour ones if you want them? Thanks.

You'll have to get tot velour from AKG. These would probably fir the K271' as they K271's pads fit the K340's.

These are relatively soft for pleater, and as I said, since the hole in the center is bigger they also sound better.

I'll only be able to post pictures this Friday. But I do have a picture of these on the last pair of K340's I've modded. For now it'll have to do:

I've posted pics in the original post.

As you can see, the new pads are on the left. They have a larger hole for the sound to go through, and more cushion as well.

I use these on my K340's and love them. Highly recommended over the old stock pads. Better seal, better sound, better bass.

I just got my pair via mail.

Nice. I like the soft, big ear cushions compared to the K240 earpads that I've been using with my K340s (which have now become hard).

They also tighten up the bass a little and improve midrange delineation - my guess is - by wrapping and sealing around the ears better than stock pads.

Also, shipping from Israel to the the shores of the Pacific here in Western Canada ... one week. Awesome. Thanks Anatoli.

BUMP

I see the even though this thread wasn't bumped for a while there are still many people looking for these pads (as I get many PM about it).

I will get some more pads in the next few days, so if there are any other people in need for new pads for their AKG's, feel free to contact me.

BUMP once more

BTW, one of the people who asked me for a pair of the pads tried them with his K271's, and says it fits exactly and improves the sound dramatically. So I guess that's one more headphone it'll fit beside the K340's and K240's.

Just let me know how....

After a while bump. I've been getting PM's about these still, than I guess people still need these.
I've finally got a few more of these (after months of waiting), so I can now provide other head-fi'ers in need for new pads for their AKG's with these.

Can these be installed and then removed without any damage to the stock headphone if one finds they prefer the stock arrangement after all?
