UPS and FedEx are the same around here, never really had an issue with them.

I do prefer USPS though, faster AND cheaper.

It's so weird that there are so many posts describing how a postal company leaves packages just in front of people's doors, out in the open. I just can't imagine such a thing happening. That would be utterly impossible in the Netherlands. Either they deliver it or they try the next day. Leaving stuff on the street is almost a guarantee it gets stolen, right?

Every FexEx delivery I ever had came faster than UPS, so I prefer them, but they tend to be too expensive. 3//4th of the time the delivery comes earlier than the due date. I made a purchase from newegg and by fedex, delivery is due by feb 4th, but it's already on the delivery truck right now.

UPS are just slow. I actaully prefer USPS, they are the same speed, but atleast they delivery on Saturday.

To quote Mitch Hedberg loosely "I like the FedEx guy because he's a drug dealer and he doesn't even know it!"
But seriously kids... say no to drugs

perhaps it depends on region, but when ordering from the web fedex is rarely offered as default or at all. when it is offered as alternative to ups, it is costlier for same delivery speeds. maybe cost depends on regional contracts. however, fedex is suggested more often over ups when things need to be overnighted or expedited. either way, I think the two are well balanced.

with deliveries, my experience is that unless signature is requested, they will leave it on your steps or porch whether you are home or not. sometimes they'll have the courtesy to ring your doorbell quickly if they think you're home (window lights) but still drop the package and dash off. if this was not the case, I would not be able to receive 3/4 of my deliveries without being home.

Yeah, I've never had a package stolen off of my doorstep (KNOCK ON FREAKING WOOD). Note: Protect my possessions among the Dutch!
