It was delivered to "Blacksburg" with no street address at all in the tracking info, and the driver said he "left it at the main door" of my dorm. That is BOLOGNA. UPS around here is notoriously hit or miss. Sometimes they'll nail it and I'll get my package on time. I've had my roommate, however, be on the phone with their ship center for a week at one point trying to get them to deliver it, and then actually have to drive TO their ship center to get the package because they have no idea what the heck they're doing. Also, they absolutely destroy their packages and have no regard for what is "fragile".
FedEx beats up their packages a little more than USPS, but they're quicker than UPS, and have never failed to deliver a package to me.
UPS is a terrible shipping company. If I have the option, I always go with USPS Priority Mail. They're fast, and they handle your packages very well. I had a Head-Fi'er mail me a box from California via normal Priority Mail one Tuesday, and Thursday, it was on my doorstep in New Jersey. UPS couldn't be that fast for the price if they tried.

USPS rocks. Of course it doesn't hurt that they are a government funded organization, so you are pretty secure that they are following good protocol and standard of operations. You simply can't beat priority mail, $4.05 cents and its there in 2 days. As a shipper I love to receive payment on something, ship it out the same day, and the buyer gets it the in 2 days.
Bigger stuff I go fedex. IME they seem less likely to beat the crap out of your gear. However some of the drivers take some serious liberties when dropping off packages. Sometimes they don't bother showing up, and your tracking will say - "was not available" - idiot, I have been out there for a couple of hours now.
UPS must employ wrestlers with serious aggression issues, is there truly any reason why they have to destroy boxes? Smaller packages through UPS are fine because they get personally handled and filtered to a different section that is not employed by wrestlers.
