Can't Decide: Jay q-JAYS or a pair of Shure's? - Page 2

q-Jays over the Shures, definitely... but I still recommend the Atrio M5 over the q-Jays.

did you guys see this thread?

I wonder what all the returns are for...

I own the SE210s and they sound spectacular for the money. The only problem is the cable is very heavy. it feels like they are going to fall out sometimes. I hear that the 310s are better in this aspect as well as SQ. If the SE310s are a consideration, i would pull out the billfold.

We have below 1% returns of the q-JAYS and we aim for 0% of course. If the reseller is not willing to help their customer as normal then you just contact JAYS directly and we will solve it without any problems. But normal in the buisness is that you first contact your reseller and they should help you. I dont think Walmart tells their 100 000 buyers of Shure to contact Shure directly if any problems. If my cellphone breaks I wont send it to Nokia.. and so on. Am I wrong?

Cheers!

And always.. contact me if you have problems with your reseller. I'll help you.

You can put Shure black foamies on the q-Jays??
That's the first I've heard that. I always thought the q-Jay tips were a different diameter so this wasn't possible...

Petced:
thanks for the foamie shipping update. If anyone gets them and has a pair of Shure E530's w/ black foamies to compare with, please post a review :-)

Those look great.

I am curious about these,as I am going to buy two pairs on the 14th from
'Planet Of Sound' here in Ottawa Canada for 184$ each.

If I place my order by then, will my two sets come with those foamies for free in the fit kit ? I am very very curious about this.Other then this place I mentioned there is no where else in Ottawa where a person can go out and buy IEM's.So its not like I can just run out,and buy some foamies for them if the tips that come with the q's dont work for me or my wife.

Planet does not carry Jays, and will be special ordering them for me.

Hi,
Foamies will be within the package from end of February deliveries from Sweden. That means that if someone stocks them from earlier shipments then it wont include the foamies. As accessories they will be available in March from Sweden.

Thanks PetCed

I just got off the phone with PlanetOfSound in Ottawa, and they told me they could get them (Q-Jays) in 3 to 4 business days.I guess that means the two sets I buy this weekend will not come with any.Darn !

I am curious about the foamies, how much will they cost, how many in a pack, and what color(s) will they come in ?

What about the Q-Jays vs. Shure 420's? Anyone have thoughts on that comparison?

I have both. If I had to choose between them, I would just get the q-Jays. Based on less weight and size, more comfortable wear, almost equal isolation, more understatement in public and just a little bit less sound quality.
Strangely, for classical music I find the q-Jays very musical, yet pretty neutral. Also quite a lot of fun. When on the road, I'm not that much of a detail or soundstage sucker anyway.
But the q-jays cables suffer from stronger microfonics than the Shures.
Pick your poison, or get them both from a shop with a decent return policy.

i would say go for the q-jays, they offer better value for money, dual driver, tiny size and overall balanced sound, i have not heard them tho i just got these impressions of others.

also consider the UE super fi 5 pro's.
although not that popular around here they were the IEM's that made me stand up and say wow as my first set of high end earphones. the strength and conviction was yummmmmmmm, just shocking for a first set of ''proper'' phones
