Computer gaming headphones under $100 ?

Thread Starter
I like to wear headphones when playing Halo or just listening to videos or music while on my PC. It's that or try and drown out the kids Tvs. I chose headphones. My last pair went out and I'm looking to do some research in order to find a good pair that suits my needs. I do not like ear buds or anything in my ear. I prefer around the ear. I have a headphone jack on the front of my PC but may get a better sound with the gaming headsets that are USB. Anyway I'm just looking for some recommendations for under $100. Also since I'm new to this forum, I'm not well versed on specific model #'s, so brand name and model number would be appreciated.Thanks.

Probably the A500 from ATH, the Denon D1000's are little more than a 100 but are also nice, and if you're feeling frisky I saw these on the Koss's site and, although I haven't heard anything about them, they sound interesting, if not gimmicky.
Otherwise you can search around these forums for good sub-100 "Closed Cans". Also, browse Headroom it's a good place to start, although their reviews may be slightly skewed, and prices far from a bargain, still a site I reference for certain things.

agreed, this was my first pair of quality headphones ever... and I bought it for the exact reasons he wants.

One bad thing about this is if you have big ears your ears aren't going to be all the way inside the pads. Look at the HD555's, it does everything the HD485 does but better and it has larger pads.

if you can find the HD500 - it's like the 485 - lil bit more detail and circumaural pads even more comfy than HD555's - look on ebay - they are cheap.
