They will probably just tell you the item is "out of stuck" and no longer available .

I understood the pre-buy opportunity was ended and the public release was yet to happen - which is why they are currently showing in this state on the site at present.

Alrighty then.... The pics are gonna have to wait till tommorow as the ones I took quickly of the phones themselves turned out slighty worse than horrible.

Here is the only one that is even remotely decent.(boring I know)

Fit-n-Finish....not bad and a little better than I expected. I think they look pretty darn nice in person. They are big.

The cable feels a little different than I imagined ,and seems more durable then pictures would allude too. It is very slightly microphonic.

The sound -I let them play for about 8 hours while I was away at work.
At this point I will say that they are MUCH easier than the O2s to drive.
One word comes to mind at this point and it's DETAIL !!
And another - articulate....
I think i'll keep it at that for now, but so far i'm liking what I hear.(ALOT)

What a tease!

I got an email from Fang about a week and a half ago. I cannot wait, all of these differing opinions and such. Personally, I cannot wait to switch things up a little bit...not because of anything bad, just want to see what else is out there.

I feel kind of bad that I am no longer in the 1.2b family.... My second set has been returned and money has been refunded. So it cost me about $60 (shipping and paypal) to play around for a while. Oh, well there is risk with anything.

I will be looking forward to more impressions.

Cheers,

It's too bad you're out of the 1.2B family. When it's functioning properly, it's a darn great-sounding 'stat. I'm caught in a dilemma myself b/c I still have 2 pairs with me, first one that's not working right, and second good-working one that has the heatshrink/strain-relief problems.

The SQ is promising-enought that I want to send back the bad-working one but keep the working pair (with bad heatshrink) for a final, FINAL version under that "one year exchange" when they iron things out.

But I was just told that the final, final version will be "under different price category" and to send back both pairs right now for a Third pair, hoping it wont' have any issues.

Or, I can opt for a refund, eating the shipping costs for 2 pairs.

Wow. I’d drink heavily cause I wouldn’t be able to decide.

Can the wires be restrained with a twist tie to the grillwork? I’m grasping at straws cause I wouldn’t want to send them back unless I really had too.

LOL... Must admit I never thought of twist ties to the grill That's pretty ghetto for a $1000 can (soon to be higher).

I could reheatshrink these things. I even have the right heatshrinks and heat gun. It's just that I don't see ANY screws or contraptions to open the 'phones. Looks like they did all the work through the inner opening, then glued(?) the earpads on with no access.

Even if there was access, I wouldn't want to DIY a solution and void the warranty..

i'm in the same boat. very impressed with the sound when working right, but plan to send mine back for a refund (need to motivate to the post office) b/c too many issues at this point in time.

i look forward to a final version, whenever that is. what we have now is close, but is not it.

I just did a search on Yahoo.cn, strangely there is even less info on these phones in Chinese than in English.

Is there a web site I can go to?

Well it looks like they still have not worked out the problem(s).
Just past the 30 hour mark and I started getting a slight buzzing/crackling on certain bass lines. I discharged the pins. (sounded horrid when I did,the phones were still on my head)
It was gone after that.....

Did you search using Chinese characters?

Mine are sounding very good at the moment and thankfully I have not encountered any functional problems so far.

That is just about the way my second pair were. It took a long time to have any issue to start with then they started the hissing and crackling sound again. I would discharge them wait a while and plug them back in. They would work, but the issues would start back up again after a short while. By about the fourth day or so it would start having problems right away.

oh well....

Cheers,

So far about Sixty hours on my set, mostly unattended break-in play. No troubles encountered.

Now I'm having a tough time finding a Comfy chair with which to complete my headphone listening station.
