ive never tried a900s but i have an ipod touch>ALO Bling Bling Dock>IBasso P2>DT770/80 and the sound is far superior to the ipod alone. it impresses me every time I head it.
Although I have never tried A900s I would still have to recommend the DT770s. I was surprised to find them surprisingly verstile although I think electronic-esque music sounds best. Classical and rock are also pretty impressive. Jazz is OK but it didnt really pop out at me as much as with electronic which is superb.
