That would be highly unethical. I would never do such a thing. And plus, having such a good digital cable will always have an advantage.

But it's not like the thought hasn't crossed my mind.

After hearing their Power 3 cord, I want more Virtual Dynamics, not less.

I've posted in numberous threads about that. Being a former non-believer, I was quickly made aware that they do make a difference when I upgraded a stock one to my Cobalt. Apparently the sample rate sync is transmitted via the coax in analog. (Just plug your digital connection into your amp and you will confirm this. It is a very harsh and annoying sound.) This works on the same principle as a modem.

In addition, a more efficient cable will have less jitter potential, however minor it may be in the first place. What I do know is there was quite an obvious difference in sound quality when I upgraded. So logically I can only assume the Virtual Dynamics one will have an improvement over the Cobalt. Obviously I can't make a solid conclusion until I actually hear it, but by this time next week I will have it.

But as much difference as analog or digital interconnects make, power cords do so five fold. I just mentioned this in another thread yesterday, but quantum physicists don't truly understand how electrons work. They have observed a single electron in 2, 3, 4, and 5 places simultaneously. We have a long way to go until we are even 1/4 of the way to understanding our physical world.

Congrats! JPodPJ on your win....

I was awarded a Testament for showing which I didn't deserve since I got my image up late. These are very generous people at Virtual Dynamics. They are even allowing me to take my Testament and trade up for the David at the discounted pricing.

So I have already received my notice of the David coming. I also will provide some impressions after letting it settle into my system.

I already had the Nite series of RCA ICs, so I know how good the VD cable can be. I also got one of their "free" Power 3 cables for the cost of shipping. That will give me three of the "VD" cables after this one.

small rant............

I was disappointed in the Head-Fi community for not providing a better showing for one of our sponsor's contests. I would have thought that we would have had at least a dozen in the contest maybe even two dozen people join in but that was not the case. I hope the Virtual Dynamics continues their relationship here at Head-Fi even when we don't support even their contests. Which if this contest is the indication it may say at lot about our support of one of our sponsors and maybe others as well.

If a pair of V-Caps are worth 500$ then the Nite cables that I have are worth every penny I paid for them at their discounted price.

Better caps, like better cables, just gets you closer to the music. My system with the VD Power 3 cable plus the VD Nite ICs and on into the David IC feeding my very neutral Lavry DAC will be providing me my most neutral signal to-date into my Yamamoto HA-02. I am looking forward to the new synergy in my system with these new cables.

Steve,
Check out my VD Power 3 review and let me know if you have similar impressions. It's also in this forum. Matt basically informed me that out of any of their cords, it has the highest price to performance ratio.

It really is to soon for me to have any comments on my cable. Later.

Yay! Virtual Dynamics are AWESOME!

My pitiful effort earned me a Testament Series cable which will be on the way soon

I haven't been much of a believer in cables but that's only because I could never afford a good enough one :P
Review and comparison to my $10 coaxial cable when the Testament arrives...

Gratz to everyone else who entered, especially IpodPJ!

I really liked your entry Frasey. Congrats to you as well. And you will be sure to hear a difference with the Testament vs. your $10 cable, you can count on it.

I urge you to get yourself a power cord, too, when you can. And a better sound card. I had the Audigy 2 series so I know just how poor it's digital output really is. It lasted about 2 weeks in my computer, and in that time it maybe got about 2 days of use. It's been sitting on my shelf ever since.

Thanks

I don't think I have anything to plug a new power cord into. My TC-7510 takes one of those wallwart things as does my GoVibe 6. But when I get my Little Dot MK II I'll be sure to look into power cords.

I'm using the software resampler in FB2k to resample everything to 48k so that the crappy hardware resampler on the A2ZS isn't used. I think it does sound better than the hardware resampler.

Another thank you Virtual Dynamics. I have been burning in a Power 1 cable for a week. I will give it a month and then try some stock and hospital cables to this one and give some thoughts.

Look what was waiting for me today ...

Look the VD against the Verastarr power cable .. VD it's bigger!
Pretty same "stiff".

I was using Belden 1694A as digital cable before (was working good). Now I have something more serious to compare with.

Thx again VD!

(I got today my shipping info for Nite and Master 3 PC ...) will have tuesday.
