I have hair that covers my ears a bit so i just brush the hair behind my ears before i put headphones on .

I think he is taking about having hairs over the headphone, not between the headphone and your air, and although I have long hair, I didn't try it yet. Hair is pretty absorbent and diffractive though, shouldn't be able to form much of an acoustic chamber

I have long hair and I have never noticed it affecting SQ. I almost always wear it in a pony tail though, so I don't have a lot of experience with it getting in the way. When I wear my HD580s, I always kind of slide them back across my ears rather then down from teh top of my head. This way it pushes the errant hairs out of the way. Even if it doesn't affect the SQ, it is distracting and uncomfortable, so I prefer my hair our out of the way.

I push mine back with the earcups as I put them on with normal cans. I slip my KSC 75 under my hair. There's no easy way around K1000s and long hair, so I just plop them over my hair and not worry about it. The Hi-voltage Staxes don't like wet hair so I need to wait for a couple of hours unless I want zapping. I zapped my fingers once with them, don't want that on my lugholes

over the back of the headphone: no impact.

between earpad and ear: depends on two things-- A. does the headphone have pleather pads, i.e., require a seal for proper bass response, and B. is it a lot of hair, and curly, i.e., enough to break that seal? If both these things, then it might be an issue, and you could tell instantly. If not, I seriously doubt the hair would have much impact. Always good to keep hairs away from the drivers, though, as they can cause awful grattle and be difficult to remove.

I have quite long hair. I cannot stand hair in between my cans (them being portable or full size) and my ears. I always brush my hair back before putting each can on. Otherwise there's an annoying tickling sensation, and of course the SQ falls as there is no proper seal.

I shaveed my head and I like my headphones alot more. I used to have ALOT of hair and after I shaved my head I could really feel the headphones on my head which makes the whole experience better.

I go through phases every 2-3 years having long hair and can offer suggestion..
If you cut it all off, the fit and seal will be different on your head which is weird thing for me, but for others may be cool. I wear a bandana at times, wear it a tail others, put my head upsidedown (like yoga forward bend) and let gravity take all hair out of the way and then carefully put them on, or tuck behind the ear(s). The only sonic degradation I have experienced is when hair is in between driver and eardrum, giving the rattle effect..which can be fixed.

I have long, heavy hair (male), and I find that getting it stuck under my earcups is very uncomfortable, not to mention the fact that it plays with the SQ, so I usually just push it back a bit. I try to not let it droop over the outside of the 'phones either, as I'd rather not risk getting bits of hair in the grille.
