Phiaton - latest attempt at "luxury" headphones

post #1 of 69
Thread Starter
Just came across a tidbit of info on the interweb about a new range of headphones (and in-ears) which are dubbed as "luxury" items. They are by a company called Phiaton which I believe is part of, or owned by, Cresyn.

The range includes the Moderna Series MS400....

.... the Primal Series PS200...

....and the Primal Series PS500

Who's taking one for the team?

Nice to see more headphones showing up.

MS300 = high-tech equivalent of ESW9?

PS500 = affordable leatherheads!!

They've got a very complete headphone range. They lack balanced-armature IEMs and an open "home" headphone.

I wonder if that's real carbon fiber

...or crocodile leather!

Looks interesting, and the drivers are very large (intend on having plenty of bass/impact?)

These definitely should be looked into...although we don't yet even know how 'affordable' they are. (like anything we use here is...)

Although they look like canalphones, the PS200 are described as having dual balanced armatures in each phone.

They look interesting. However, the way they're marketing them makes me think they'll be expensive. (As in maybe overpriced for what you get, not the normal head-fi expensive) But who knows.

They say carbon fiber and genuine leather on their web site. Bet these are not going to be cheap. 102db and 32ohms is pretty good numbers for the 500's.

Lol. I hear these are shipping with the Phantom game console, which has Duke Nukem Forever pre-bundled.

bahaha, carbon fiber? is anyone complaining about the headphones not being aerodynamic enough? And yea, that whole headband assembly looks like it was lifted from the ESW9.

Come on people surely one of us could find out what the price is? I've had a go, with no results i'm afraid.
