Am I an idiot or is this just isn't my fault?

i hope this is the right forum for this but anywayz the story goes like this.

i was at work and this guy asks me for a cd player and my recommendation for some headphones. he pics out a cd player then moves to the headphones. i recommended some senns i forget which ones. they were like $60. he liked big phones but my store doesn't have alot of those besides noise canceling, which i hate and so did he, and IEMs. alot of IEMs in fact but he didn't want any shures or klipsch. so we went with the senns.

so i go to ring him up and i ask him for his ID and i read his last name was Casablancas. n i'm like wtf who has a last name like that. He had a music note tattoo on his right wrist so i said u must love music. he laughed and said yeah. so in my head i'm like this dude is prolly a rocker or somethin he had the whole look.

long messy hair, some big pink/purpleish shades, kinda young. so he leaves n when i come home i do a search and come to find it it was Julian Casablancas lead singer of The Strokes. well i felt like such an idiot after finding that out. i've never heard the strokes but i've heard of them. so is it my fault that i had no idea who he was or am i just an idiot?

Well I have heard of The Strokes but not heard them as well. I wouldnt have found out without a google search either. He isn't exactly Robert Plant! Heck I am sure there are tons of ppl who wont recognize Plant as well. So no sweat...

Not your fault, imo!
Cause there are thousands of bands out there and there are know way we can know every single one of these bands, and recognize its members when/if we meet them...

Wow pretty cool story. I like the Strokes. But for the most part, I only know the lead singer if I really dig the band/artist--so I probably wouldn't recognize him either.

... If you did, you could of gotten some "samples" off of him, and ebay it $.$

This the guy?

yup that was him but he had longer hair and some big shades on lol.

pretty cool dude we he was headed to barcelona and one of my co-workers was like, joking around mind me, i bet you don't kno where that is. n i said of course.... portugal lol. then i started laughing and i'm like just kidding its in italy lol.

all three of us started laughing n then they were like seriously man. i'm like duh its spain lol. so after i rang him up i just told him have a nice trip in italy n he started dying laughin n was like thanx i will.

Professional musicians can't even pick-out headphones without the help of a sales clerk?

I think thats a sign of the apocalypse, right after 'Lucky Charms has too many shapes and colors to remember'.

well they were the best over ear phones we had. he didn's want IEMs nor Noise Canceling which is what we specialize in. And we were sold out of the HD650s

daym looking at the pics and yall reaction i still can't believe i had no idea who the hell this guy was at the time. kinda makes me laugh at myself. I still wouldn't have known who he was if i didn't ask to see his ID lol.
i wonder if i would have been a fanboy. but i met other famous people that i did kno:

John Cena, Charles Barkley, JA Rule, Shawn Michaels, Chris Carter, Tommy Davidson, Just Blaze. ummm funny story is Tommy Davidson actually cracked a joke on me the bastard. His girl was WOW
