Almost everyone with custom IEMs wears them over the ear. They must do that because it's better, so you can join the bandwagon and do it like they do. I think it looks better over the ear anyway.

How typical is it that your ear canal will change shape for, lets say a 16 year-old, to a young adult, 20 year-old? And aslo, how much is reshelling?

Again, that ear change question, is best to ask an audiologist.

I will email mine, and see what she says.

I doubt they will reshell for cheap. Basically, what you are paying for with custom IEMs is the labor involved in making the shell. Otherwise, the components are very cheap.

I think sub $100 would be a reasonable price as that's usually how much it costs to make just a custom fit earpiece with no drivers.

Still debating getting these. Between these and Mylarone X3i's right now.

I'm just not sure if its worth the trouble for me to get ear impressions done, send them in and then possibly be unsatisfied by the results. Although if Costco does free impressions there's one like 5 minutes from my house and I know my mom has a membership to them so that shouldn't be a problem. Unless of course my Costco happens to be one that doesn't offer it and I look like an idiot explaining to the guy who barely speaks English (lol southern Florida) that I need someone called an "Audiologist", lol.

Just looking for some good portable phones so I don't have to carry around full sized phones or use crappy Apple iPod-bundled things.

Costco does free impressions? Does this apply to the Canadian one too?

I want that info too!

The younger you are the quicker your ears change. Your ears never stop growing. Most teens would need a refit every year to 2 years.

Still waiting on an answer for Canadians...maybe I'll just ask my parents to drive me there and ask (since they're both Costco members).

I don't believe you. I would expect it to be good from age 16-20 or at least 15-18.

It might begin to grow less quickly, but your ears will still continue to grow.

a quick google search will give you an answer.

You don't have to believe me , but that does not make it true. Go talk to your audiologist.
