What else... what can you tell me about bass definition? I think the only way my tweaked Super.fi fall short compared to the Triple fi is due to less defined bass. It is slamming, but not completely "real" sounding... more of a blurry bass. Like a slamming cloud. Triple fi behave much better in bass definition, it sounds more "analogue".

Comfort was okay with the flanges, but I have yet to meet a flange I can stay with. So as I noted, I slipped on a pair of my favorite foamies, Shure yellows, and they clicked right away for me. Very comfy. They are just the right circumference for my ears, and are short (like Comply shorts, but not as thick), so the end of the sound tube on the SA6 is just shy of the end of the foamie. For whatever reason, they are very comfortable (I used them on the Atrios, which I think I also mentioned).
Now, sound-wise, I even think I prefer the sound coming from the foamies, bass seems deeper, but not flabby at all. And I like having the sound tube and sleeve tube about the same length, so there isn't much distance from the end of the phone to my ear canal. As I have noted, I have a pair of custom sleeves I had made for an old pair of FS EM3s, but the sound tube of phones that fit (Atrios, Ety ER4P) only reach halfway into the sleeve's sound canal. To me, it thins the sound, and who needs that?
Cable is not braided, and the lower main stalk is pretty substantive, feels rubber coated (not cloth), while the two wires from the slider are thinner, and also rubber coated.
I don't find the bass "clouded" at all, and I am using the bass+ port. I even bumped up the bass a little on the Sony DAP, and it's still tight and really delivers some kick.
The snap-in collar where the cables meet the phones seem very secure to me. Not an issue.
Anyway, back to listening. I just got in, and I want to listen some more.
Edit: Oh, I agree with another poster that it's very hard to decipher the L from the R phone. Nice to have some color coding or something, not sure what. It's especially tough for we older guys.
